We had breakfast there this morning and it was wonderful. The service and the cleanliness of the restaurant was certainly a bonus. I had their Reuben and french fries, which were not frozen. My wife enjoyed the oatmeal with berries and fruit because we’re over 65 the coffee was free.

This place has a lot of potential, but unfortunately fell flat. We waited 20 minutes for our order to be taken, then we stared at our food for an additional 20 minutes once it was cooked and sat on the ledge before our waitress brought the food to our table. I’m sure the food would have been excellent, except it was lukewarm by the time we received it. Besides the lukewarm food, each of our orders had something wrong whether it was the number of pancakes to the hash browns vs breakfast potatoes, to never having water brought to the table. We also heard waiters griping about the customers, which didn’t feel very welcoming. I have no doubt that this happens at other restaurants and waiters can have very frustrating customers, but these frustrations shouldn’t be shared at high volume in the dining room around the customers.
I wish that was all, but then our bill wasn’t correct. Another table had their food added to our table, which once fixed by our witness became an issue when we went to go pay. We kept getting told that we had multiple bills and had to pay a different amount. Finally, someone came over to fix it. Our entire experience took over 2 hours, with most of it waiting for service or our food getting brought to our table after it was ready.
Lastly, this seems like it would be a family friendly restaurant, but there were no changing tables in the bathroom. A parent shouldn’t have to go out to their car to change their child.
The only positive things I can say would be the apple fritters & pancakes were good, even with them sitting for 20 minutes, and the carafe of coffee at the table was a convenient addition.

This place is as classic as it gets! Eat here you won’t regret it! Love their old time jazz and the American flag and nods to supporting military. They ding a bell when food is ready from the kitchen. They say they have a “limited” menu but it is huge and includes such enjoyments as fresh squeezed orange juice, homemade corned beef and roast beef hash, crepes, and German pancake! Their prices are still reasonable and service is fast. I love a place with booths to trap the kids in and they have a nice kids menu and provide crayons.

Ordered biscuits and gravy. Gravy was a little sour to me. not sure it was a different recipe but everywhere I go for breakfast it’s what I ordered. Never tasted anything like this.

Super stoked that this Genuine diner experience did not disappear.
Large comprehensive menu for everyone young and old. Savory and sweet lunch and breakfast items paired with a few specialties like the German pancake and the Dutch baby. Make this a cornucopia of a feast. Good for large or small groups. And especially works if you want something for lunch and the person you’re with wants something for breakfast or vice versa.
Oh and the fresh squeezed orange juice too.

I want all breakfast places to look and smell like this, with the old diner feel. We had a group of ten and the server, Barbara, was accommodating and very attentive. Consensus was the food was very good with the cinnamon roll getting rave reviews (and it’s huge). I only gave the food 4 stars because I ordered the vegetable omelette, which is my fault. Order normal breakfast food!

We came in with high expectations with the high amount of good reviews to the restaurant. However, when we were ordering the waitress kept hurrying through without explaining the menu without introducing yourself without saying hi and it just felt like we were just an inconvenience to her schedule. We ordered the steak and eggs. The steak was overcooked, the eggs were undercooked. Nothing was salted or seasoned at all. The pancakes tasted like they were made from a pancake mix. And the whole thing was too expensive for what you’re getting. When we were paying for our food, the waitress did not ask how our food was. There was no attempt to connect, And felt like we were just getting rushed out of the restaurant. We only found out her name was Cynthia based on the receipt we got. What a letdown. Would recommend to avoid.

Pretty decent place to stop for breakfast. I found it slightly hard to follow the map directions as the entry is through the parking lot of another store but maybe there was a better road to it. The griddle was not working when we went. I got the chicken fried steak which was okay. The portion size was good and the gravy was tasty. My wife got an omelette which was pretty decent as well. I think it’s Denver but I forgot the name. The place looked quite busy and service was super fast. Overall a pretty nice place.

Disappointing Experience – Not Worth the Price
I recently visited Pancake Chef in Seattle, very close to the airport, and unfortunately, it was a big letdown. The place seems to rely heavily on its location, because the quality definitely doesn’t match the prices.
I ordered a vegetarian omelet for $19, which came with country potatoes and toast. The potatoes arrived cold, and the omelet was made with bland frozen vegetables — no flavor at all. I had to drench it in ketchup just to eat it. Worst veggie omelet I’ve ever had. It didn’t even come with cheese unless I paid extra ($0.70), and avocado was $2.49 a slice, which felt ridiculous.
The diner itself is very outdated. Chairs were ripped, and the women’s bathroom smelled bad and had spider webs, as shown in the pictures I took.
This place is overpriced, poorly maintained, and serves mediocre food at best. Definitely not worth the money — I wouldn’t recommend it.
