We had goat cheese and grilled sweet corn, its amazing. And we had some tacos as well.
From the start this was a hot mess. We got told we absolutely had to be on time or our table would be taken away. We arrived and the table wasn’t ready for 15 minutes.
Then we got given guacamole but no chips. We got told theyre busy and didnt know they would be.
This is on a Saturday night in a tourist town in the holidays. They should be able to look at historical sales and plan better. Also, they required reservations so they knew damn well in advance how many people would be dining at any one time and the fact that they kept making excuses isnt on. This isn’t the servers fault. This is abject management that doesnt know what day of the week it is.
It took 1 hr for chips to arrive.
The service was so bad that when you got a drink you ordered the next one knowing it would take so long.
My food was freezing cold and plated poorly. My table mate asked for a chicken dish and got given beef.
I asked for a club soda and got told to order expensive sparkling water.
My food came back with no silverware and had to ask for silverware.
Honestly this place is a disgrace to Mexican food and hospitality. They should be embarrassed
The food was delicious, the space (seated in the Den) was perfect for our party of 20 and the vibe was cozy and warm.
Special thanks to Joanna, Tori and our server Luis for their care and coordination!
After having gone to some amazing restaurants last weekend like Teleferic, this paled in comparison. I’d probably rather go to Javier’s instead of here. If you’re looking for authentic Mexican food and vibes, this is not it.
Looking at the photos of the restaurant and the food we had very high hopes, but those were dashed in ten minutes again and again. Ten minutes we sat & waited for water & chips & salsa. Then waited for a cocktail menu. After finally getting served my wife’s drink-blackberry ginger marg-was tasty & strong.
The Sol guacamole comes with the ingredients on a plate & you stir it yourself, but we liked it.
Wife’s chopped salad was $16, small & didn’t fill the plate. Carnitas were overcooked and tough.
We decided to roll the dice & ordered the tequila flight and it was again TEN minutes before the waiter returned and said, “we discontinued that-we’re not doing flights. They haven’t updated the menus.” Take a look at the photo-it’s $23 for three 1 oz pours in a flight, or $17!! for a single pour of basic blanco tequila. What a scam! A lot of restaurants change menus up daily, to not “update” is no excuse.
When the manager walked by and asked how things were, he didn’t wait, he hustled kept walking…wow.
All in all we had a very bad experience here and don’t think we would return.
