Waited 20 minutes in this waffle house and no one would take our order. We were told to wait just a moment as she relaxed chatting with her co worker for about 5 minutes, then said she needed change so she helped her co worker with that and then she went to get more change and began slowly counting an entire handful of it instead of taking our to go order while we were in quite a rush still patiently waiting. No other customers were there needing assistance and they weren’t even cooking, then when we left we just quietly walked away and we could see them throwing up their hands because we left. Unprofessional, and makes us not want to return because it’s been made awkward. All we wanted was food. We left to burger king across the street and were served within 3 minutes.

The server working when we came in this morning was extremely friendly, welcoming, and attentive. She consistently checked on us and made sure we were okay, which we truly appreciated and want to recognize that.
Unfortunately, there were a couple of concerning issues with our food and drinks. My eggs were undercooked and still runny with clear egg present, despite requesting them cooked thoroughly due to me being 8 months pregnant. More importantly, my 2 year old son was served expired chocolate milk. My daughter’s chocolate milk was fine, so at first I assumed he simply wanted hers, but after leaving he vomited 3 times about 20 minutes later. When I checked the chocolate milk we had taken with us, it was clearly expired and had a rotten smell.
I understand mistakes can happen, but serving expired milk especially to a child is a serious health concern. I hope this feedback helps ensure closer checks moving forward, as the service itself was excellent and we generally enjoy this location anytime we get to come up and visit our family.

As a long-time guest of Waffle House, I am very familiar with their food preparation expertise, and customer service.
This morning I visited the Athens, TN, store.
The first word that entered my mind was wow.
Hannah was the absolute best server that I have experienced at any Waffle House.
She was exceptionally busy servering many guests, and yet made time to ensure that I had everything that I needed. She must be a mind-reader, because she seemed to know exactly what I needed. And she is so polite.
To the store manager, please express my sincere thanks to Hannah.

Best experience, the workers were very friendly and made me a smiley face on my waffle, I didn’t want to eat it but I did.. eventually. It was delicious, I got a flavor that wasn’t on the menu and you gotta ask for it, it’s the one and only pumpkin spice!! Try it, it’s amazing!
