This was my second time to this restaurant while working in Brownwood.
First time I came I got the ribeye and it was cooked perfectly with a wonderfully done sweet potato.
This time I got a sirloin with a half rack of ribs.
Everything came out quick, hot, and delicious. Sirloin was cooked medium just like I like, it was good but I’d like ribeyes better… Service was fantastic.
They usually have a rotating specialty keg on tap… Good selection of drinks.
Atmosphere is very laid back, old nostalgic kind of like cracker barrel.
Looking at the other tables everyone’s food looks delicious.
It don’t see anyone complaining.
So I would highly recommend this place.

We stopped at Humphrey Pete’s while passing through town and had such a great experience! They have an awesome setup with an inside area, a bar area, and an outdoor patio, so there’s plenty of space and a great atmosphere no matter where you sit.
What really made it perfect for us was the kids play area with trucks — it was exactly what our toddlers needed to get their wiggles out while we relaxed. Such a family-friendly touch that we really appreciated.
The food was delicious, and the service was great. We also heard amazing things about their bourbon dessert, but unfortunately they were out for the night — definitely gives us a reason to come back!
Highly recommend stopping here if you’re in the area!

The atmosphere was great! Our server was super friendly and the food was good. I ordered a sirloin (pictured). It was good, not fantastic. It was cooked perfectly, though. The steak was a little tough and not a lot of beef flavor, however, it was not seasoned with much of anything. My wife ordered an appetizer sampler and everything it came with was delicious! It was worth going back. We will return next time we’re in Brownwood.

Burgers are good, but the service is hit and miss. Last time I was there, waited 15+ minutes before walking out, as I was never served. However, the waitress for my section spent at least 10 minutes chatting with the people two tables from me.
Food is pricey. Whatever burgers I have (when I can get one), plus an iced tea runs around $20. And that’s lunch.
I don’t remember her name, but the waitress with the long red hair is awesome. Good attitude, very attentive and on top of things. Humphrey Pete’s should clone her. Anyone who wants the best service should specifically ask for her.

This was my second time to dine here. I don’t live in Brownwood but drive through often. My first visit was outstanding, which led to my visit this time. All I can say is that i was really disappointed. First, after seated, they forgot about us. We finally got to order drinks after 10 minutes of sitting alone. They state us in a room that emptied out soon, leaving just us in a large room, which is fine, until they starting stacking tables/chairs and sweeping up for the night. It’s like we were not even there. Some good news was that our server was super friendly and apologetic for the issues. Regarding the food service: I ordered steak and my wife ordered chicken friend chicken. She got chicken fried steak, which is fine, but not what we ordered. My okra was cold, the “loaded” baked potato had very little extras, and it was not hot either. My filet was perfect. It took 40 minutes to get our food but the place was not crowded at all. Finally, we had to wave to get someone to bring us the check. If you go, make sure you get seated in a place that they can see you and not forget about you.

I give it a 3.5 out of 5. Overall food was a hit or miss, I got the country fried steak, it was huge, but the batter was very thick and salty and the steak was more chewy than I like, my wife got the platter with ribs and catfish which was delicious, the rib could of had more sauce but it was still great

This place has horrible customer service. The hostess did horriblywhen seating us. After ten minutes with no one acknowledging us we decided to leave. Who ever was working on Saturday night at 9pm on Feb. 28 needs to be educated in customer service. If your a waiter, I don’t care if it’s not your table , if you see a person sitting at table while you come and go for longer then 5mins. You should asked if they have been assisted at least. Not one server that I made eye contact stop to check on us. I blame the hostess and the staff, whoever trained them, has no clue how to run a business properly with class and professionalism.
