The building was historic yet clean and welcoming. The staff were friendly and service was fast. The food was hit and miss. I had the breaded tenderloin and it was perfect, other members of out party had the pulled pork and did not enjoy it. The prices were reasonable on most items but overpriced on some. Indoor dining area, outdoor patio, and bar seating allow you to choose which atmosphere best suits your mood. Located perfectly in historic downtown Franklin. I would recommend and plan to return myself.

The tenderloin sandwich is so good! The breading was crispy and seasoned well. I needed a second plate for the second chunk and because the fries were piled so high! Great service. Cool building.

My husband and I went in for a quick bite to eat he ordered a taco salad and I ordered a tenderloin, the tenderloin had absolutely no flavor whatsoever it was so bland I only took probably 5 bites and that was it, the taco salad that my husband ordered he ate about five or six bites there was something slimy in it that he couldn’t figure out what it was and there was quite a bit that he had to spit out because it didn’t taste right the food was absolutely awful. The server was very nice the atmosphere was okay just the food was awful will not be going back.

You have to find someplace on the neighborhood streets to park and walk to the restaurant.
Could have used more wait staff but they did their best.
Food was good, but honestly have had better.
Would be willing to go back and try some of their other meals.

The Willard is a joint I haven’t focused on much but recently, my family was invited to try it out to we made a visit on Friday (2/10/23)
We had a reservation so we were seated immediately. The menu has quite the selection! Especially a large amount of apps. Everything looked really good but I settled for trying the Pretzel Breadsticks. Overall, they were hot, salted well, and had great taste! The nacho cheese on the side was great too.
As my entree, I got the Tenderloin. And let me tell you, unlike a ton of other places where they give you a super thin pork patty, the Willard doesn’t mess around! They serve you a thick and juicy Tenderloin that all around was fantastic. The fries were great too!
Overall, this was a great experience. If I come back to Franklin, I’ll definitely come back to the Willard!

Atmosphere is in keeping with the vintage style and vibe that seems to be the whole town’s theme. Adorable throwback to days gone by. The menu offers Chicken fried sandwiches this State is known for. Only drawback was limited dessert menu? I had my heart set on trying one of the Indiana bragged about recipe’s ? Like sweet cream pie (sweet butter cream in baked crust), or anything authentic to the area , ? I’ll keep looking?

the employees trying to handle the many customers were obviously overwhelmed and 1 person in our party fell through the vent that just had a metal cover laying on it and not mounted to the floor scraped up her leg and had someone not caught her she would have fell on her stomach and she was pregnant when brought to the attention of the manager she rolled her eyes at another customer and said i know about it and put a small caution wet floor sign over it. and idk how many times that was knocked over and about 30 minutes later it happened again on another vent on opposite side of same room. if its busy watch your step while also trying to watch out for bumping into everyone. i get its an old place but repairs can be made and better managers can be hired

The day after Christmas is difficult, and as someone who has worked in food service I get it. Not fun. You need time off and it is well deserved. That said, the staff tonight was simply not kind. I didn’t even need my way – just treated as an equal. The staff was rude, annoyed, and spoke about my party when they thought we were out of earshot. I used to come here with family as a kid – and wished for the same nostalgia. Instead, we’ve decided this is no longer a place worth visiting.

Salad was pretty good and the place itself was cool. Pizza is good if you’re alright with the thick kind of cheese that tends to slide off the crust. Service was very slow when I went, and when food did come it was only one or two things at a time, like they were making things one by one rather than working on multiple items at the same time. I wasn’t very hungry so I ordered a fruit bowl (just strawberries and grapes) for myself. Half of the fruit was fermented and one or two pieces had mold. Probably my mistake for ordering fruit at this kind of place but if it’s on the menu it should be edible.
