We had lunch at Duval’s Fresh. Local Seafood, and the entire experience was excellent. I ordered the grilled grouper with a wedge salad, which was fresh and perfectly prepared. Another person in our party had the oyster po’ boy, and it was just as good.
Our server, Chad, truly made the meal special. He recommended a great wine pairing and topped it off with an amazing dessert—bread pudding—which was the perfect way to finish the meal. Chad was a pleasure to meet and provided outstanding service from start to finish.
From the fresh food to the attentive, friendly service, everything was spot on. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and would absolutely recommend Duval’s to anyone in the area

Visited Duvals for the first time and wow, i see why its rated one of the top places in Downtown Sarasota. As a lifetime local its interesting to have so many food choices in beautiful downtown! We arrived after 9pm and there was easy walkup/walk in table options, so we missed the rush. Advanced reservations are recommended. Eat inside if you want to avoid the street cars blairing music cruising through the street, especially after sunset.

I’m visiting Sarasota for the first time on a work trip and decided to take a walk around the area. I started heading to a sushi spot, but right next to it I noticed Duval with signs saying “#1” and “Best Seafood,” so I decided to give it a try instead.
As soon as I walked in, the host was so friendly and welcoming and seated me outside. My server Jennifer was the absolute sweetest. She made great recommendations and treated me like a regular even though it was my first visit. The food was beyond delicious. Everything tasted so fresh and flavorful.
I’m so glad I stumbled upon this place. Definitely worth visiting if you’re in Sarasota.

The candied bacon old fashioned’s are the bomb! Highly recommend trying one if you are a bourbon fan. We went during the week so it was easy to get a bar seat. The weekend can be a challenge at night. The bar tender was very attentive and the food was great.
We went back again for lobster bisque and a grouper sandwich. The food here is consistently good. Friendly staff with good atmosphere and great vibe. Parking can be wonky but we’ve never had to walk too far to get here and lots of cool places to window shop along the way.

Stopped here because I was craving seafood. I did not have reservations so we had to eat outside. (Not a big deal but on certain days this could be a deal breaker). I started with a drink reccomended by waitress and then they ended up coming back and saying they where out of coconut puree. So I changed to a blujito. It was good but very very very minty. For appetizers I ordered the muscles and they were good. I probably would not order them again. For entree i got the Grouper which i had never had and I thought it was really good! The wife did the fish and chips and the fish/breading was cooked amazing but… it had no flavor. So bland. If you didnt get starter sauce there would have been no flavor. Overall it was good food but I would not go out of my way to eat here. If you are close then it would be nice place to stop

Really enjoyed our time at Duvall’s in Sarasota. Our waiter was so nice and welcoming. The margarita and cosmopolitan were both great, and the seafood was fresh and delicious. The place has a really nice vibe inside and outside, relaxed but still elegant. I’d definitely come back.

My husband and I were at Duval’s on Monday before a show at the Sarasota Opera House. Food was great and our server, Michael, was very attentive. We would frequent this restaurant more except for the parking in downtown Sarasota is a little difficult. Give it a try before the snow birds arrive!

We had the absolute BEST experience thanks to Chad B! From the moment we sat down, he brought such incredible energy to our table. He was extremely personable, genuinely attentive, and had the perfect balance of charm and humor. Chad knew exactly when to crack a joke and when to let us enjoy the moment, which made the whole late afternoon feel effortless and fun.
His recommendations were spot on, and every single dish we ordered was absolutely delicious. Fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. I had the pan roasted salmon recommended by Chad. I eat salmon frequently and it was one of the best meals that I’ve ever had. You can tell he truly cares about the guests having a memorable experience, not just a meal.

We had an incredible meal at Duval’s and I can’t wait to return in the future! The team at Duval’s was friendly and personable, and made every effort to ensure that we had a great experience, including a phone call the next day to ensure we were completely satisfied (we were!)
We made reservations, and were in on a Friday evening. The restaurant and bar area were both busy but it never felt loud. The atmosphere is relaxed but very nice. Our server, McKenzie, was amazing! She was attentive, friendly, knew all the answers to our questions, helped guide us through our dining experience perfectly. All of the food was really great – highlights from our table were the calamari and the grouper, the sides were great too – spinach and sweet potato fries were perfectly cooked and seasoned. All this was followed by the bread pudding (wow!) and the gluten free blueberry cheesecake. I have to say that I almost didn’t order the GF blueberry cheesecake but i’m SO glad I did – the best GF dessert I’ve had in a long while!
I highly recommend adding Duval’s to your rotation of downtown restaurants, or trying it for a special occasion. We are so glad we did!

Food was bland. My husbands swordfish was watered down from the spinach and was thin and tasteless. My seafood Alfredo was watery, the prosciutto was took thick and chewy and lacked flavor. The waiter was attentive but a little rough around the edges. The atmosphere had an odor of cleaning fluids. For 2 people and 1 of them not drinking alcohol, $163 was too pricey for the food that was served.
