Overrated white people Mexican food. The food was not good. Too bland. Little flavor no spice- nothing wowed us. It’s white people Mexican food. I think the only Hispanic person I saw was busting tables. And be careful. When they casually ask of you want guacamole or cheese dip they’re asking if you want a 13$ dish for each. Our bill was 30$ more than we excepted. Not a great experience. The food didn’t sit well. We felt kind of sick after eating and not great the rest of the day. We won’t be back.
If you want great authentic tacos go to Mas Taco Por Favor. Amazing flavorful and authentic. And fantastic margaritas in east Nashville

My boyfriend and I came in for some queso and drinks the other evening. I remembered the queso being decent, so I was happy to stop in. The dining room was almost empty but the bar was packed, we sat at the last open seats at the bar (the bar usually gives faster service). My boyfriend’s margarita tasted like just sour mix and sugar, and it was an alarming electric green color. The queso was hot but the flour chips were bland and cold. Early into our queso a cockroach crawled onto my menu from behind the bar, where I had to call out to a staff member to assist in immediate pest control. The host quickly brushed the bug into the trash can and continued working without batting an eye, or even washing his hands. We asked for our bill immediately. The bar tender gave me the bill and didn’t even apologize over the whole bug ordeal or offer to comp our queso for the contamination of our food due to their infestation. I asked for the manager over this matter, who also seemed to not see an issue with what had happened. I’d gladly pay for the gross margarita my spouse drank, but not the queso app that was interrupted a quarter of the way into consumption due to the cockroach. Crazy. Also, I find it odd that the instagram page doesn’t have any pictures of the food or drinks served at their establishment, just a silly sign out front. I wonder why.

probably the worst service I’ve experienced in a long time. our waitress was very slow and hardly checked on us. we were a large party of 11 celebrating my dad’s birthday, so I guess the waitress felt like she didn’t have to do much for a tip considering there’s an automatic gratuity for a large group. anyways, our table was never cleared of the chips/salsa/queso we started with, and by the time our entree’s arrived, the food runner asked US to clear the table and make room for our food.. I found that rude. oh and he didn’t take any empty plates/dishes with him. so we’re eating on a crowded table. we’re always very pleasant to servers and great tippers. but to be frank, it seemed like no one cared about our table. the food was very subpar, however our strawberry mango margarita pitcher was delicious. the downside to that is our server failed to mention the upcharge for two flavors when we ordered, so when we asked about the price on our check she basically gaslit us by claiming she stated that in the beginning, which she did not. because we would’ve simply got one flavor. regardless, we won’t return nor recommend to ANYONE. we’re Nashville natives, I expected more from a “staple” in east nashville, but it’s overhyped and underwhelming like everything else in that gentrified part of town.

I just walked into this place at 9:05pm. Host who was paying homage to curt cobain w his 90s haircut said he recommends we try another time because the kitchen closes at 9:25. The site says 10pm close. I’m wearing sweats, t shirt, & a hat, not trying to stay for long clearly. And if we’re talking perspective here, I understand kitchen closing but that’s at least 20 mins from his made up time frame & 40ish mins from literal closing time itself website/store hours itself. What if a server was having a slow night & wanted a big tip? What about the cooks? They know what’s up, they don’t really care either. What about perspective? I’ve worked at several restaurants nicer than this both serving & BOH. Pretty sure I was a host in college too to pay bills. Idk if it’s pure laziness or being completely unaware, either way pretty disappointing.

As a Mexican American visiting from Houston, Texas, this food made me want to climb the nearest pyramid and rip my heart out with my bare hands and sacrifice it to the gods. Y’all better off eating at either las maracas or el jalicense or finding a legit taqueria. Definitely not Mexican, heck not even Tex-Mex.
Starting off with the staff, their attitude, while not bad, seemed somewhat standoffish, unlike almost every other service worker I have been served by here in Nashville who all seem to go the extra mile in terms of hospitality and ensuring a warm and welcoming customer experience.
Very sad selection of drinks. No aguas frescas, just generic sodas and teas. The water tasted pretty funny. I don’t know if they didn’t wash the cups well because it tasted like what I’d imagine toilet water to taste like.
Salsas were pretty much water, probably store bought. Ordered queso with chorizo and they served with flour tortilla chips?? They weren’t even fried all the way, it felt like I was eating drywall.
Ordered the chile verde. Canned frijoles, barely anything in the stew, just straight up chili water with like 5 small chunks of chicken, 2 Serranos, and not a lot of flavor. Don’t even get me started on the rice, just plain white rice with carrots and no trace of tomato whatsoever. Also served it with flour tortillas instead of corn tortillas like bruh.
After leaving I started to feel sick afterwards. This place caters to those who season their food with nothing but salt, pepper and mayonnaise. If you wanna find out whether a place is legit, just take a look at the clientele, and how they word certain dishes on the menu and ingredients if you’re familiar with Spanish language and Mexican cuisine. Just look it up

The customer service was painfully slow, and the lighting inside was so dark it felt unpleasant. The food was an absolute disaster — it came out cold, tasteless, and completely unappetizing. This is, without a doubt, the worst Mexican restaurant I have ever eaten at, truly the bottom of the barrel. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. Honestly, I’d rather eat at Taco Bell a hundred times over than ever come back here.

A different version of Mexican food. The homemade chips with the queso was definitely a favorite of mine! The food was okay, very filling. The drinks were on point and felt we got our money’s worth. Service was just okay, and he never brought me those napkins. The music was way too loud inside. Overall, it was definitely a good experience but not excellent.

Rosepepper is a very popular East Nashville hang that’s earned a reputation for good margaritas, a funny sign and in my opinion hit or miss on the food. I’ve not been in a while but on our visit today I was pleasantly surprised with how things seemed to improve. The Ceaser Salad like dish is a new favorite with delicious fiesta chicken and a yummy savory sauce it’s a wild twist on a classic. Enchiladas were also really good on this visit with a spicy chicken and two nice eggs. One really great thing here is you get very good portions for the price to the point most times I’d consider splitting an entree especially if you get an app. Chips and salsa free for the table with house made tortilla chips that come out hot and a verde sauce you might be inclined to drink it’s so tasty. As mentioned the margaritas are classics. They specialize in a nice simple style lime tequila triple sec. Easy drinking. They also have frozen options with many fruity flavors if you are in a party mood, combining mango and strawberry made a really nice drink for us. The patio is the way to go even if the weather isn’t great. Do consider reservations as they are usually very busy in the evenings. My recommendation is go for lunch or even brunch which surprisingly doesn’t seem to be too busy at least not at all for our visit right at noon on a Sunday.
