If you’re craving authentic Mexican cuisine in Orlando, El Potro near Kirkman is an absolute must-try.
We ordered the chicken fajitas and they were phenomenal—perfectly seasoned, tender, and served sizzling hot. What really elevated the dish were the small corn tortillas, freshly made and warm, adding that unmistakable homemade touch. The guacamole was creamy and flavorful, and the chips and salsa were spot-on: crisp, fresh, and addictive.
The ambience was cozy and welcoming, with a warm vibe that made us feel right at home. The service was friendly and attentive, and our food arrived promptly—no long waits, just fun vibes and great eats.
What stood out most was the authentic flavor across the board, from the mains to the side sauces, especially the fiery habanero that packed a punch without overwhelming the palate.
No regrets here—just full bellies and happy hearts. We’ll definitely be back. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a true taste of Mexico in the heart of Orlando.

My absolute favorite place for authentic cuisine. Quick and friendly service, the food was hot, tasted fresh, and flavorful. The portions were pretty big. The homemade sala is drinkable! Their queso is to die for. I’ve been to more than one location of El Potro and each time they deliver amazing,quality service and the food never disappoints. A MUST TRY! Prices are PERFECT.

Usually a great spot but the past few times ive ordered you have given me steak thats been sitting on a steam well for and hr and a half to 2 hrs. Very dry, not sure if they have hired new staff to the kitchen but youre starting to go down hill and need to make a change in your kitchen

We were visiting family who took us to El Potro. 5 out of 5 on all topics. The staff, all the staff, was friendly and welcoming. The owner was in that night and was stopping by tables. He was absolutely charming. The food arrived promptly and in great amounts! In addition to friendly staff and good food… the restaurant was clean, the restrooms were clean, and the bar area was lovely. Thank you for a great visit

My husband and I come here at least once a month and we LOVE it. The food (and the margaritas!) are excellent; but more than that, the staff here are so wonderful. Daniela has become a friend to us and we enjoy seeing her and all of the staff.
Our favorites: the Carne Asada Tacos, BOGO margaritas (currently Fridays through Tuesdays), Queso dip, and Churros.
We can’t wait to check out the new bar once it’s complete! El Potro is easily our favorite Mexican restaurant of all time!!

If you are looking for a lowkey Mexican spot with great deals, look no further. Chips and salsa are brought out as soon as you sit down. BOGO house margaritas (2 x $10), fajitas for 2 ($30-$35) and so much more. Highly recommend if you are in the mood for a good night out with great service from the entire staff.
