A walk up memory lane. I came here as a high school student 20 years ago and am thankful this late night staple is still going strong today. They have delicious Mexican classic favorites and drinks in a fun, casual setting with music and an outdoor rooftop area. A Durham favorite you can’t miss!

My partner and I moved to Durham in December and this has been our go to spot ever since. Cosmic was actually the first place we ate when we moved here! If you’re looking for delicious food available at almost every hour of the day, this is the place. The burritos are consistently perfect, the salsa is incredible, and the chips are crispy and the perfect saltiness. The atmosphere is really cool and the staff are so friendly! They seriously bust ass. So thankful for this place- we go every week!

The food was great, especially for late night. Service was great, but make sure you check that receipt because I was about to put cash in the tip jar before I noticed that they had already charged me $5.15 for a tip without saying anything or posting about automatic tips charges (definitely would’ve given them extra cash but I would also like to be notified of what I am being charged..so I decided against it for that reason)
My family and friends will definitely be back next time we’re in town.
The outside patio is cute, too

First time trying this place and was so cool! Loved how it feels like a whole in the wall and gives Austin TX vibes. Loved how much history is still here in the space. We got the asada nachos and a marg! So good and that marg was fire! Thanks for a fun lunch! Will definitely drive back up here to try other things.

It was a great stop for dinner after 9:00. They weren’t packed at that time. The back patio is nice and open. Even with just a few people inside, I can imagine the dining area could feel a little cramped if they’re at capacity. Service is quick, and it helps that they have a speaker system to call out order names, but the speaker doesn’t project outside. So if you sit outside, you may need to step in and check on your order.
Service was great, very polite and food was quick. Quick. The food was also very tasty (I had a mushroom and spinach quesadilla). I’m looking forward to going back and trying more of the menu.

The food is huge proportions, authentic-tasting and well balanced for the Latino taste.
In fact after hearing about the place it was surprising after entering the establishment.
This is where the atmosphere hurts the score in a very bad way. To access this establishment, you have to find a very nondescript door that leads up a stairwell that looks like every gang in Durham has tagged it. Meaning it is very easy to overlook this place or think you are in a very wrong and even unsafe place.
Once inside the vibe doesn’t change much as geaditi still exists on the brick wall where guests sit.
From the 3 times I have visited, the first a guest had to tell me without me asking “yes you are in the right place”. And my last two visits we had people ask “do you know where…” To which I replied “yes, you are in the right place”.
However, if you are using door dash or other delivery service, these issues simply won’t present themselves.
Overall, I’ll eat there again.

I ordered burritos, but my order was messed up badly. There was too much avocado and a lot of sour cream, which I did not request and I don’t like neither. Because of this, I wasn’t able to enjoy my burrito for dinner. The service was very disappointing, and unfortunately, this is the second time it has happened. I hope this mistake doesn’t occur again in the future.

When you first walk in it seems sketchy for the graffiti on the walls. It is part of the theme as it’s name is cantina. Once you step in the restaurant is really cool. Indoor and outdoor seating. Terrace is open and fresh air. We visited at night so it was cool. Staff was extremely friendly and smiling. Margarita was ready in no time before we sat after ordering. They ask for your name to call you after ordering over the counter. I just came back from Mexico couple of days ago and taste of this place is so so good and very close to be authentic.
