Rockfish Exmouth offers the best seafood with the best view! Our seafood restaurant is located next to the town slipway overlooking the beautiful Exe estuary. The tide rips past the front of the dining room providing the perfect setting to enjoy freshly cooked seafood. Our chefs prepare sustainably caught, local fish simply by crisp frying, grilling or cooking over charcoal. On fine days we also have seating on the deck outside where you can enjoy drinks overlooking the water. On colder days you can warm up inside the restaurant next to the log burner and keep cosy from the sea breeze and watch the fishing boats go by.

We visited Rockfish in Exmouth with our family (4 kids + 2 adults), and it was simply a fantastic experience from start to finish.
The staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming us with warm smiles and showing genuine care throughout our visit. Service was impressively fast and attentive, even though the place was busy.
We ordered from the kids’ menu and for the adults — and everything was unbelievably fresh, delicious, and perfectly cooked. The kids loved the food and especially appreciated the unlimited chips, which is such a thoughtful touch for families.
It’s rare to find a place that manages to be both high quality and family-friendly, but Rockfish truly delivers on both.
Highly recommended — we’ll definitely be back!

I visited here first time with my husband last week. Fantastic choice for anyone who loves fresh seafood with a view. The restaurant boasts a stunning location with panoramic sea views. The excellent food, the restaurant has a wonderfully positive vibe. The staff are friendly and the atmosphere is lively yet relaxed, making it a great place to enjoy a casual meal.

Beautiful food. Honestly made. When sat outside you can’t order any of their fish-of-the-day menu but only items from their standard menu but that was communicated clearly. No seagull attacks! Good prices !

What a lovely experience to find a cosmopolitan attitude towards fish right on the river Exe. The food is excellent and the fish paired with all sorts of fresh ideas. The lovely staff are friendly and very accommodating in explaining the tasty details of their menu. The great view on the tide is a big plus.

Brilliant spot for some fresh fish, pretty much the whole menu is gluten free and coeliac safe. The service was also great with good views of the sea. It is on the pricey side but the portions are big and obviously you’re getting fresh fish and unlimited chips! Also dog friendly which is great.

We were a group of 5 and a dog. Two of our group are coeliac with one also being a vegetarian. The menu catered to all our needs and the staff were so helpful throughout our visit.
The fish was so fresh and beautifully presented, the unlimited chips was a great touch.
Initially we had only planned to have a main course but when the waitress said that the desserts are gluten free we all chose one! I had the hand made chocolate bon bons which were sensational! The Knickerbocker glory was a big hit too!
The atmosphere was great, nice views and the service superb and we will definitely be back when we are in the area again.
Oh and the spoof shipping forecast being played in the restrooms was a stroke of genius!

Fish and chips, the fish was cooked to perfection but by the time it reached me it was just warm, the mushy peas and curry sauce was also cold. The chips were average also just warm and scrumpy not very nice potatoes. The waitress was very pushy way over the top trying to sell me low alcohol drinks. There was no lagers oh and she said we had one piece of cod but that was gone so in fact no cod. Unfortunately the local youths were playing very loud music whilst swimming and leaving the USB music playing, this caused a problem with some clients. This is a shame as it’s not the restaurant fault but does detract from the atmosphere. The toilet was up stairs and were very clean the disabled toilets were available down stairs. I was really looking forward to try this restaurant but unfortunately it did not meet my expectations not one of the best.
