The chicken, baked beans , slaw and potato salad were excellent. The beef however was sus. Everyone who tried the beef, thought it is was pork. After contacting Hillbilly’s were informed “it always comes that way, unless you request sliced.” Why was “being sliced” not offered? If it is your deluxe order, how would you know to request sliced beef. Disappointed only with the beef. The correction was to purchase sliced beef at $17.00 a pound.

Took a drive outside of Charlotte for a little nature. After working up an appetite hiking up Crowders Mountain overlook. We stopped in for some Barbecue. Tried the Ribs and Brisket combo with macaroni and cheese and collard greens. Food was delicious. Friendly staff. Was a good stop.

This is a great BBQ joint conveniently located just off of I-85 in Gastonia. At the recommendation of a friend, we met here for lunch where we were warmly greeted, and promptly seated. I ordered the rib and brisket combo, and was greatly pleased that the ribs were fall off the bone tender and still juicy. The brisket, although thinly sliced, was equally delicious. I also enjoyed the baked beans, as they were cooked with some bacon, that added to the overall flavor. My only dislike was the coleslaw. Perhaps because it waa minced and not chopped so, the texture and taste were off for me. I highly recommend a visit to Hillbilly’s, as I look forward to my next visit.

Anytime you can’t figure out what and where to eat go to this place! The barbecue is freaking awesome. I recommend you get the ribs with pulled pork barbecue for the sides try beans and slaw You can’t go wrong with this combo. Gerald Duncan is the owner here. He is very approachable sat down and gave us a little background on the restaurant and how long he’s been in the barbecue business. (alongggtime) And believe me he knows what he’s doing. Kyra was our waitress. she was nice and sweet and handle all her tables well. They give military discounts and offer a senior menu. The atmosphere is nice the staff is friendly. They have a great new huge restaurant to serve you in. Make sure to give them a try soon. This place is adequate for huge groups to meet and eat

I’ve been here multiple times now and it never fails to be amazing. Great hush puppies, the bbq is good and the sauce has a really good twang to it. The burgers are super good and fresh and have that grilled taste and the onion rings are some of the best around. Waiters are always friendly and the place is clean and well lit.

The food was amazing. I loved the ribs and the peach cobbler was to die for. The service was excellent and quick. Our server Tara was attentive and very friendly. Would highly recommend getting the bbq brisket with ribs. It’s definitely worth coming and the prices are very reasonable.

Hush puppies were excellent!! Perfectly fried and just the right amount of sweet. Mac and cheese and cole slaw were just ok. Baked sweet potato was simple, but delicious. Brisket sandwich hit the spot. Definitely want to come back to try the ribs.

Hadn’t been here in years. It’s not the same as the one I used to know before they moved and built a new restaurant. Came here during dinner. Okra was overcooked and not warm. Hushpuppies were not any better. Potato was hot. Baked beans was okay. They used to have barbeque in them. No sign of any barbeque. I accidentally ordered the Hillbillies platter thinking it came with barbeque but found out it didn’t. That was on me so asked the waitress to add a $5 dollar barbeque order to my dinner. Waited for it to be brought to me. Never came. No loss when she brought me my receipt instead. I may try it again thinking maybe it was an off night. I will have to think long about it, though.

My first visit here and it was great. The chopped brisket was very good. The Mac and Cheese was definitely home made and very good. The baked beans weren’t just the ordinary – they had extra flavor. I highly recommend it and I will be back.
