Chaotic Fear
The outside looks nice, the interior is very colorful and vibrant. The staff were very friendly. No Mexican music was playing just upbeat traditional pop. There was a abundance of table varieties which felt off. Why 4 plus different kinds of tables. The interior decor had way to much pictures , fake trees, string lights and more. Yeah it’s cool and helps with the color mexi scheme. BUT. the palm tree above me I could see dust and I cant imagine how much dust is on all the trees and all the picture frames. The picture on the wall near me had tons of finger prints ( view photo) the wall had salt sitting on the window base. (View photo) The black bowl was melted on edge with my food in it. (View photo) It just felt unclean. The chicken burrito I ordered was bland mushy more refried beans than anything the sauce tasted old (view photo). Ok the GOOD. Fajita veggies were well done. The hand rolled tortillas, Bravo Nice browning to the exterior. Nice case they felt fresh which was awesome. The fajita chicken had a beautiful charcoal sear to it. The chips and salsa you start off with yummy no complaints. Overall I was satisfied the food was decent/meteocre. I would rate this establishment 5 out of 10. Coming from aTop 10 food restraunt reviewer in America !!! Give it a shot have a nice night support your local business.

Update: husband got food poisoning.
Server was great. But the food was concerning. Chicken was raw. The steak wasn’t real steak and was undercooked, I couldn’t eat it.

My wife and I have been loyal patrons of this Chuy’s location since we began dating in 2016 — nearly a decade of consistent visits. At our peak, we were dining here three or more nights per week. When my wife was pregnant, it was practically a daily stop. It’s safe to say we have spent thousands of dollars at this restaurant and genuinely loved every visit. We even have a photo of our dogs hanging in the bar. This place has held a real place in our lives.
Which is exactly why tonight was so disappointing.
With a sick child at home, we opted for carry out. I spent 20 minutes on hold just to place the order. When I arrived and paid, I noticed the amount charged ($40+) didn’t match my receipt ($33). I flagged it calmly, a manager overheard and offered to correct it — which I appreciated initially.
What followed was baffling. The manager informed me that she could not process a refund without first charging me the correct amount. Before any refund was ever attempted, she ran my card multiple times for the corrected charge. The repeated attempts triggered my bank’s fraud protection, which locked my card entirely and sent me a fraud alert. I’ve worked in customer service for over 10 years and have used numerous POS systems throughout my career. I have never encountered a system or policy that required charging a customer again before issuing a partial refund. At that point I told her to forget it and left.
When I got home, the order was wrong on multiple counts. We were missing queso and jalapeño sauce we had ordered and paid for. My wife’s entrée was so heavily sauced it was inedible. And my Kings Memorial meal, which I ordered with queso on everything, arrived completely dry — no sauce whatsoever. It was the opposite of what I asked for and a far cry from what this restaurant is known for.
One experience doesn’t erase ten years of loyalty, but it does change things. We’ll be making the drive to the St. Matthews location going forward. I hope someone in leadership takes a serious look at what’s happening here, because something has clearly broken down — in training, in process, or both.

We have always spoken highly of Chuys to our friends and family and when in the area we choose to dine here. This time was on valentine’s day. We expected to wait, which we did. Not an unusual length of time on a holiday and Saturday. The waiter did not provide the usual quality service. Our waiter forgot to bring us drinks, didn’t get my order correct, and the steak was not fully cooked. Hopefully our next visit will be better service.

Food is great as was our service. The only complies the silverware is the mist thin and cheap as I have ever experienced. Still a great place.

One of my favorite places to eat when it comes to Mexican I love the jalapeño ranch dip with the cheese queso dip. Chips are great. I always get the Elvis Presley meal and all three enchiladas covered in queso.!! flame

Our first time here. The creamy jalapeños sauce is amazing! We liked the super thin chips.
We had good service & the food came fast!
I had a shrimp taco and the hubs had a steak burrito. Both were good. All in all a good experience.

Service was outstanding. But I got a steak fajita and it was not real steak. I’m not sure if it was lab grown meat but it was layered. I’ll be getting chicken if I ever go back.
