Reviews
The Mela Amore is a refreshing apple-forward drink with a light, balanced sweetness and was pretty good. The Neapolitan focaccia, soft and airy with a lightly crisp exterior, was also good and made for a solid starter.
For entrées, the lasagna special featured classic layers of pasta, sauce, and cheese and was good—comforting and filling. The lasagnette alla Bolognese, made with smaller ribbon-style pasta and a rich, slow-simmered meat sauce, was also good and well-prepared.
Dessert was the highlight of the meal. The brown butter pecan gelato was very good, with a deep, nutty flavor and smooth, creamy texture. The budino de pana, a silky custard-style dessert, was enjoyable and nicely balanced. I also tried the olive oil gelato, which had a savory, herbaceous profile that wasn’t my cup of tea, though it was interesting to experience.
The atmosphere was warm and inviting. Sitting in the communal section felt comfortable, and the window seating looked especially cozy with open windows and heaters. The music added to the overall vibe as well—at one point, “Remind Me” by Patricia Rushen played, which was a great touch.
Overall, Nova Cocina is a solid choice for Italian comfort food with a relaxed ambiance and standout desserts.
They also have an excellent wine selection and some truly standout desserts. And their gelato? Fantastic—hands down one of the best I’ve tried.
You absolutely have to give this place a try. I don’t hand out five-star reviews or rave about restaurants very often, but this one truly deserves it. I’ve been here more than a handful of times now, and it’s consistently excellent every single visit. Highly recommend!
The food is simply wonderful and the atmosphere is full of charm.
The risottos, the pastas, and the grand finale… the pistachio gelato, are the most delicious I’ve ever tried!
I highly recommend Novo Cucina!
Every visit here is a very special moment.
We enjoyed our pasta and pizza. Highly recommend the clam pasta and margarita pizza. As for dessert we had their lemon gelato and chocolate bread pudding, which was amazing. Price was fair for the portion. No specific dress code.
Polite staff.
Warm ambience when i walked in
Excellent portions with a made from scratch/non processed/ home made feel.
Will be back to try other offerings.
Pictures are for the sausage and peppers entree
Among our group we have several food allergies, including milk, wheat and shellfish. Thanks to the extensive menu and our outstanding server, we had no trouble finding appetizers, entrees and deserts for everyone, every taste and every food allergy. The gluten free focaccia was undoubtedly some of the best G/F bread that I have ever tasted.
The food here is not cheap, but it is worth every penny.
Dining at Novo Cucina is more than just a good meal, it is a excellent experience.
What makes this even more disappointing is that I’ve been going to this restaurant for over 3 years and never expected such poor quality. This experience ruined my trust completely. Food safety should never be ignored.
Very disappointed.
