Low-key, counter-serve Mexican eatery dishing up a variety of tacos, including breakfast options.

This place is awesome! Has that real Home madeMexican food vibe, not at all like the Mexican food chain restaurants. Carne Gisada & Bacon and Egg were my choice. If i had more time I would have ordered the Heuvos Rancheros Plate! Service was quick, food was hot and fresh. Will definitely be back!

Mary’s Tacos is a fantastic spot for authentic Mexican food packed with flavor. The atmosphere is casual, welcoming, and perfect for a quick bite or a relaxed meal with family and friends.
The tacos are absolutely delicious—fresh, well-seasoned meats, warm tortillas, and generous portions. Everything tastes homemade and prepared with care. The menu offers a great variety, from classic tacos to other Mexican favorites, all consistently satisfying.
The staff is friendly and efficient, making sure orders are accurate and service is quick. Prices are fair, and the quality is excellent for the value.

Mary’s Tacos is fabulous! Don’t let the line out the door scare you. It moves fast! The carne guisada and barbacoa tacos are my favorites. This place is a Boerne gem!

We’ve been going to Mary’s Tacos for years, but we took a hiatus because the quality was declining and the amount they were putting in their tacos was severely dwindling. Tried them again today and was beyond disappointed. All tortilla, barely any egg (I made extra eggs to add in later). Honestly, it was offensively puny for a $4 taco. We got 6 tacos and they were all barely filled.
Unfortunately, this may be the last time we go. We get a much better value at Las Palapas.

I used to love Mary’s Tacos. It has been a family favorite for years. Recently the portions and quality are really going downhill. This is the second time in a row I have ordered my usual bean cheese and bacon tacos only to get basically empty tortillas with just a smear of beans and cheese. This time the I honestly thought they had given me an empty tortilla until I opened it (picture is attached to this review). This is on top of the fact that they have grown too busy. They are busy to the point that getting in and out of the parking lot is a nightmare and trying to get to the counter to pick up your food is ridiculous. I realize they can’t do anything about the crowds given the limited space they have available but it really ruins the atmosphere. Based on the challenges with the crowds coupled with the poor quality and amount of food in the tacos recently, I would recommend saving yourself some time and frustration and just pass this place by.

I got the “Sean special” bacon eggs potato bean and cheese. I was hungry and forgot to take a pic before I started eating. I had never been, I sat down on a table thinking a waiter would come and take the order until I saw everyone going to the line and then sitting. So FYI walk straight into the line to order then go sit down. Food was delicious I’m originally from a border city where tortillas are home made wherever you go and this restaurant has had the best home made tortillas so far. Thick and tasty. Food is freshly made. Great tasting, portion size is fair for the price. Bacon is crispy, potato soft, cheese melty, all the flavors combined to a great taste. The green salsa or “salsa verde” is really hot so I only put a little but if you’ve built a tolerance for hot stuff you’ll enjoy it. Parking is plenty, there’s more in back from what I saw. It gets packed in the early morning, around 9-10 it’s a little less. They don’t take long to take your order. Great place definitely coming back.

Mary’s Tacos, which is located on East Blanco Road in Boerne, Texas, is SO awesome!! 🙂 As outlined on their website, “Mary’s Tacos is family owned and operated in Boerne, Texas. We have two other locations in Kerrville, Texas and Helotes, Texas. We are a low-key, counter-serve Mexican eatery dishing up a variety of tacos, including breakfast. We are proud to be the home of the best tacos in Kerrville, Boerne, and Helotes, Texas.”
I recently visited for the first time with a group of friends as we were passing through town, and it was a great experience. First, the staff are very kind + efficient. Our order was taken right after we arrived, and our food was made quickly + just as ordered. I love their Bean & Cheese Tacos (the perfect breakfast taco). Their tortillas are made in-house and are so, so fantastic. Further, their Cinnamon Cookies are delicious, and are able to be purchased by the container! The indoor space of Mary’s Tacos is larger than it appears from their small parking lot – there are many tables to choose from and we had no problem getting a seat (even on a busy Saturday morning). This is a great spot – highly recommend!

Hands down, best tacos in Boerne.
Mary’s Tacos is the real deal. I’ve been coming here for a while now, and it never disappoints. The tortillas are made fresh, the portions are generous, and the flavor is on point every single time. My go-to is the chorizo, egg & cheese, but honestly, you could close your eyes, point at the menu, and still end up with something awesome.
Service is fast, the staff is friendly, and even when it’s packed (which it usually is), they keep things moving. If you’re anywhere near Boerne and craving breakfast tacos, don’t skip this place.

Follow up: Mary’s continues to be a winner. Even when the line is out the door, they move fast. Seating can be hard to find during lunch rush (the empty tables you see in the pics were all full 10mins after we sat down). The only negative we have seen over the past several years is it can get very loud during rush and it is hard to hear each other unless you are in one of the side rooms.

A Boerne institution. We’re from Boerne, but I teach college downtown San Antonio and some of my students have heard of and go out to Boerne for Mary’s Tacos. Never had a bad Taco there and the offerings should satisfy a wide range of tastes. Don’t be scared of the long lines, they move fast. Last time we were there we were 15th in line but we were ordering in 6 minutes. Even with the large number of people (this was Sunday right after noon) they had our food ready by the time we had found a seat and filled our drinks. My only negative would be that this is the first time someone in our party wanted water to drink and we had to buy bottled water since we were told they don’t provide regular drinking water like almost every other eatery.
