Since our move to the Midwest, we miss Latin American food, like the kind offered at Arepas El Cacao. The type of restaurant that is walk-in, casual, almost cafeteria style where you carry your own tray, but with excellent homemade flavors, and of course – lots of hot sauces and toppings to pick from! The arepa is one simple price, but you can select up to five fillings. With such delicious options, it was hard to choose. We went with pernil (pork) plantains, white cheese, beans, and avocado. Absolutely delicious! We also tried the guava-cheese filled pastries and an empanada. Believe me, you will miss this type of food if you move away from Florida. And if you’re in Florida visiting, you should stop in and try something local. You won’t regret it. Sabrosiiiiisiiimo!

We placed our order at 1-10pm. We were the only ones in the restaurant. The lady at the counter took the order, proceeded to have an extensive conversation with a friend and our food was never prepped. We advised her to cancel the order at 1:34pm. Miraculously the order was prepped and ready at 1:36pm in a to go container and major attitude to go along with it instead of the sauces that should accompany the order. It is 1:4 and I am still waiting for a refund. We didn’t have time to eat before having to leave and she has the bag of untouched food. I guess chatting with your friends is more important than providing customer service. She apparently doesn’t know how to process the refund and is on the phone with someone that is trying to talk her through the process. She’d know taking an order while I wait. It is now 1:50pm and I just got my money back.

Their service is awesome!!! Me and my family go there at least 1-2 times a month because their food is incredible but also they are hustlers!!! Always making sure their costumers are well attended and feel welcomed. Great experience everytime.

Great service and good food. The soup was very tasty. A pleasant atmosphere for breakfast or lunch after work or when you don’t want to just cook. The girls Carmen and Khris are very attentive to their customers.

To be completely fair, I am not an experienced Venezuelan food critic so I want to share my experience at Arepas El Cacao. The small restaurant is spotless and nicely decorated, plus the staff was very kind. The young lady took my order and I probably waited 5 minutes for my order. I ordered the arepa with everything in it: shredded beef, black beans, rice, sweet plantains, cheese, chicken salad and avocado. It was huge! Honestly I couldn’t even finish it. The arepa itself was a bit hard but I think it tasted good. I tried 3 different sauces but the green and the white sauce were average, while the pink sauce was definitely better. I’ll have to go back and try something else next time. The price was a bit high but for all the food they stuffed inside that arepa, I think it was alright.

The food was delicious! The service was excellent and it has a great vibe.

The portion sizes are huge. Two people can share on plate.

Overall the best place to get an arepa!

I love getting food here, I’ve been coming here for years. However, I never sit inside because no one seems to care that guests have no problem talking on speakerphone and ruining it for the people who want to eat inside. I think the staff should not let people talk on speakerphone, it disturbs every one else.

My little sister took me here for dinner and I was blown away by the flavor! I ordered the Cacao 3 with a passion fruit smoothie. It was a 10/10. The Cacao 3 consisted of black beans, avocados, shredded beef, plantains and mozzarella cheese. The house made hot sauce brought just enough heat to the meal. I’m definitely going back. The service was quick and friendly. The atmosphere was clean and small with outdoor sitting available. Thank you for a wonderful experience.
