Let me start by saying the owners are a couple that are franchise owners. I came through their drive thru at 845am and the delivery truck driver said they dont open till 10am as he had their drive thru blocked. The owner came out and stopped me before leaving and said i will take your order inside if you wanr.i went inside and ordered, his wife who remwmbered me from the no kings protest was present as well. They are the nicest couple and theor ownership of the business, accommodating even before they were actually open, food so hot and fresh that the fries were to hot to handle was amazing. I support local businesses and these owners are a step above any others ive experienced. I was blown away by theor willingness to make me food prior to opening. I didnt wanna go anywhere else and as a server and bartender… i reckonize service when i see it! These folks work hard and are all about the guest. Im blown away by the service here and by them and will definitely be back. I know its steak and shake but the service that these owners gave was a big difference. They genuinely care and want to take care of their guests. I live in altamonte springs and will drive to their location over the one in altamonte just because of them. Thank you for accommodating me over an hour prior to opening. You folks have the right moves! Dont change and god bless

By far the friendliest , cleanest Steak n Shake in America. They treat me like a regular at a 5 star restaurant. Amazing service by an amazing helpful staff. Absolutely LOVE IT. I can’t say enough good things about this restaurant.

Very awesome staff. My best Friends Father had past away last year. Steak n Shake was his fathers, Jerry’s, favorite place to eat since he was a teenager. He is actually in one of the picures that hang inside most of the S&S locations. When the staff found out they actually gave the picure to my friend. It was a simple gesture but it meant the world to him. Thank you awesome s&s staff.!!

Not a big fan of the new ordering kiosks, but they work well and are easy to navigate. Their new beef tallow fries were good, and the shakes always are decent. But the butter burger was melted butter on top of the burger itself. It was not great. I’m not sure if that’s the way they intended it to be, but if you like butter burgers, do yourself a favor and go down the street to the real butter burger restaurant. Their regular burger was good though.

We came here last Saturday after theme parks my little cousin love this place she is 9, we came nobody greeted us we have to place our order in a computer it is a little confusing and the substitutions are hard to made, the restaurant was not the cleanest it was late at night at almost all the tables were dirty, the bathrooms had no hand towels. The food was great the burgers were fresh the lettuce was crispy and fresh the tomatoes were great the bacon was soggy but overall great bite all together, the friends were crispy and very good salty, great sodas and shakes. If they could clean the place up and have someone greeting people and helping them with their orders it would be a great place cause the food is super good!

Fries were cold. Environment seemed to be cleaned. Soda machine tasted nasty and some of the other drinks were completely out. Do better.

I stopped in for lunch and my heart just broke. One table in the dining room at 12:15 on a weekday. Casselberry SNS used to have a line out the door at lunch and people waiting for a table to clear. This was a sit down family restaurant and always had kids after school and on weekends. Eventually 3 tables came in for lunch and they were all people talking about how SNS used to be.
I had my order remade and Joe was busy helping people order on the kiosk and explain to them the soda machine would not work if they did not have their receipt.
When my order was returned it was as I had ordered it.
The restaurant was clean almost hospital white. It just did not feel like SNS. There were no servers, everything was on lockdown. Many of the tables and benches have been removed but the decorator is much the same. I guess they just do no need all the extra seating anymore. Friday and Saturday nights there used to be 6 people trying to squeeze into a booth because there was no more seats.
I was so disappointed with my visit, and lunch. Joe was the highlight of my visit. He was very friendly and helping everyone who did not understand the kiosks and the soda machine. This restaurant will not be in business much longer if it continues to operate like this and alienate its core customer base that were complaining about the kiosks and new way the restaurant was.

Classic, comforting, fast food. Delicious burgers, milkshakes and “shoestring” style French fries. The best part was the friendly and welcoming customer service! The manager and employees went above and beyond in helping us today especially with our elderly parent. Thank you SnS!

I came to this same Steak and Shake 4 or 5 years ago and they told me they didn’t have anything which was gluten free so I hadn’t been back since. Today I met a group of friends there and it was a different restaurant with the same name. When I asked a waiter about my allergy, he got the person in charge. She was friendly and a careful listener. She even shared that her own daughter suffered from allergies which immediately gave me relief. The fries are fried in separate oil from any breading, the shake equipment is carefully cleaned and kept free of cross contamination. She suggested a burger which they put in a little bowl and gave me extra lettuce to wrap it with. The food was out fast, perfect temperature and delicious. I can’t remember the last time I could have fries!! All the counters and tables were meticulously cleaned and the same “person in charge” was serving customers. Turns out she is the owner! Her husband and her bought it a year ago. They have done a great job with it. If you haven’t been here in the last year, come visit this new and improved version.
