My boyfriend and I were on our way home from visiting family and stopped here for lunch. The restaurant is clean and comfortable and the decor is like stepping back in time to the 50s. The menu is huge and offers many different types of food including Greek, Italian and traditional American comfort foods. Peter was our server and was polite and attentive. He recommended the Moussaka and I’m so glad he did! My boyfriend had the meatloaf sandwich and said it was delicious. The portions were more than generous so come hungry. It’s a shame that we live about 3 hours away but anytime we’re traveling this way we’ll stop in for a delicious meal.

I am sad to say this place was just not good. Every food we got was disappointing, tasteless, and oily. The waitress was rude. The only nice person seems to I think the manager. She greeted customers warmly and was genuinely nice.

I’ve been here multiple times as I prefer to eat locally vs bug chains. The food is delicious and depending on who you get the service is quick , easygoing and uncomplicated.
The only thing that gets me every time and I try it every time are the home fries.
I love potatoes so sometimes I can taste how these are not freshly cooked, they sometimes taste old and when I ask for crispy they just burn it….
Please work on your home fries it always disappoints.

Best diner around for breakfast and lunch!! Food still tastes the same 20 years later. Service staff are always super kind and helpful. Lots of options, seating inside and parking outside.

I can’t really rate our experience because we never got to eat there. We came in, was not even acknowledged or welcomed. Thinking we could muster through the surly welcome, we sat down only to be greeted with heavy sighs and exasperation when asked for a couple minutes to look over the menu. It was hard to sit there with our children knowing we weren’t welcomed. The only color welcomed was the green in our pocket. The hostile air was palpable. So, we politely left… “thank you but we’ll be dinning elsewhere.” We weren’t stopped or asked why; the owner just glared at us. And the silence confirmed it all. I take that back; our innocent 7 year old twins asked why we were leaving. I didn’t have the heart to tell them at that moment about overt disdain for people you don’t know. After all, we were taking them out for an early Valentine day dinner, and who wanted to bring hate into it. I won’t label the establishment, but we know how we felt and it wasn’t in our minds. Thankfully our evening was not ruined- we had a nice, lovely dinner at Modern Asia where the color of our money and the color of our skin were welcomed.

This is the best diner we’ve been to in years! The staff are out of this world and we loved how incredibly family-oriented they are. The food was delicious! 10/10 recommend

Really wanted to love this place…. most of the reviews were great but , what I ordered was subpar…probably the worst pork and sauerkraut I ever had. The pork was like a fatty pork chop and very tough. The sauerkraut had no flavor. The broccoli had no flavor and was mostly stem. The salad was fresh and good. Our waitress was attentive and gave us good service. I liked the atmosphere. If I were not so shy, I would have sent the food backand not paid $20.00 for a meal I could not eat. Maybe just an off day

Happened to spend a week in Frederick one night. Had to eat breakfast somewhere, and I patronize ‘mom and pop’ places where available. This place, as it turned out, was a pretty large place with lots of seating capacity. The breakfast menu was large, and you get plenty to eat for the price. I got a ‘special’ with two slabs of french toast, two eggs, sausage, potatoes and lots of bacon for 10.95, and every bit of it was great…..’special’ indeed!! It has a retro feel to it, as the place has old diner-type seating, and 50-s / 60’s decor which was cool. Could be a Route 66 type of place with no trouble. My waitress was a little crabby at first, but she seemed to mellow as we went on. if you go, note the interior ceiling beams, which are engraved with songs & artists of oldies rock!! Would go back for sure if I’m ever stuck in Frederick MD again……

Great old school diner with a fun retro atmosphere. Everyone that works here was super nice and upbeat and they love to give suggestions if you need them. we shared the French toast because one of their specialties and it was really good. I didn’t really care for the butter. It was served with. I don’t think it was butter. It was some sort of margarine or something. I think maybe if they had butter, I would ask for that instead, but otherwise my omelette and my partners liver were sandwich were really good. We ate everything.

We are from New York so Mom and I love diners. We were shopping at Boscov and asked for a local place to eat. The Mountain View diner came highly recommended. The atmosphere is transcending back to the 50’s which I love. Everyone talks to you the staff, the customers just a nice friendly place. The service is warm, the talk to you share stories but efficient as well. They are very attentive. The food s served in large portions at reasonable prices and very good. I can’t say enough about this place.
You have to go if you’re in Frederick, MD.
