On very rare occasion, the universe will serve up something completely unexpected and delightful. After a long flight and waiting for nearly an hour for my transport to the nearby hotel, I arrived near midnight, weary and seriously hungry. With immeasurably low expectations, I asked the night manager if there was anything worth eating nearby and, without hesitation she told me to go to ‘that Mediterranean place,’ just down the way. And she added they were open until 2am.
Seriously. What decent restaurant serves until 2am?
I could smell the delicious aroma of roasting meats and garlic a good hundred yards away. Walking into the place, I was greeted by a familiar, light Brazilian accent and a warm, “have a seat wherever you like, my dear and I’ll be right with you.”
The menu is pretty much what one would expect from a place called Mini Pita with very reasonable prices and an extensive selection of deliciousness.
Somewhat overwhelmed, I asked the attentive and friendly Shaiana what she would recommend and settled on the lamb chops and a Corona.
The food was absolutely amazing, expertly prepared, flavorful and plentiful. Shaiana made certain that I felt at home and never wanting.
All in all, I have to say that this was my favorite ’late night surprise’ meal. Thank you so much! I can’t wait to bring The Butterfly someday.

The atmosphere was warm and inviting—clean space, nice energy, and a vibe that makes you want to stay longer than you planned. The staff checked on us just the right amount and made sure we had everything we needed.
Overall, an excellent place to eat, relax, and enjoy.

I absolutely adore this place. The gyro was the best one I’ve ever had. The lamb kabob was cooked perfectly and seasoned to perfection and the service was amazing! I also love the simple and unique decor, the restaurant was very clean, cheesecake dessert was spectacular and the hibiscus rose water tea was also a lovely experience. I plan to come back here very soon!

I’m surprised their rating is not higher… Hands-down, one of the best Mediterranean/Greek restaurants I’ve been to! Could you question such if you walk by the location in a mediocre strip center, maybe but DON’T. Stop in, review the top-notch menu, ask questions, receive quality service, and enjoy incredible food! I told the wife, “If this place were near us, I’d be eating there a couple of times a week.” Fresh, handmade, well offered, large portions, and vibrant flavors.

What a fantastic first meal in Florida. We dined at Mini Pita Mediterranean Café the day we arrived in Fort Lauderdale, just before heading out on a cruise to celebrate 20 years together, and it could not have been a better start to our trip.
We ordered the meat platter special with kafta, chicken, rice, Greek salad, and tzatziki…every single bite was incredibly delicious. We also shared the hummus platter with lamb, and wow… the lamb was outstanding, the hummus was easily one of the best we’ve ever had, and the pita bread was so fresh and tasty. We truly gorged ourselves and didn’t leave a thing on our plates!
A special shoutout to our server Cary, who was absolutely lovely—so polite, helpful, and genuinely made our experience extra special.

This was my second visit to Fort Lauderdale, and once again, this place absolutely blew me away. This time I took a friend! The service was outstanding—our waitress, Shaiana, was incredibly sweet, attentive, and truly went above and beyond. Her energy and care made the whole experience even better.
The food was phenomenal! We ordered the grape leaves, falafel, chicken shawarma pita, and lamb shawarma—every single dish was bursting with flavor and cooked to perfection. Even the teas and lemonade were fresh and perfectly balanced.
