Returning to Las Palapas for breakfast at 6:30 am. Again, easy parking, good service and tasty tacos. Drive thru was busy.

Added a picture and video of the tacos.

Revisiting Las Palapas after a few years for breakfast at 6:30 am.

I arrived and it was easy to find parking, because most of their business appears to be via the drive-thru at this hour.

It was open seating, and given it was a Friday morning at 6:30am, there was plenty of tables and booths to choose from. Juany came over and provided menus, and took our drink orders. She returned to take my and my guest order. We ordered a potato & egg taco, and a chorizo & egg taco. The tacos arrived after a short wait. Jauny did very well taking care of us, and thus the service was excellent during our visit.

I definitely will be back and look forward to my next visit. I hope that if you decide to visit that your experience is as good as mine.

Palapas is always our go to! Chips and salsa is amazing. & the enchiladas con crema is the bestttt! The only frustrating thing is always paying for extra cheese and getting less cheese than you would’ve if you hadn’t asked for it more. Please actually add more cheese not less cheese when people pay more for extra cheese.

Ordered the combination plate with ice tea. In no time a fresh complimentary basket of chips and salsa arrived at my table with a glass of tea. In short time my order arrived on a very hot plate. This also came with flour tortillas and salsa verde. The combination plate came with a chicken taco, a cheese enchilada, salad, rice, and refried beans. Everything on the plate was good but one thing that stood out was the enchilada sauce. This sauce was exceptionally good. I made sure every bit of the sauce was used and I put it in my chicken taco, and rice. The service was good here and interior was nice but looked aged in some areas. One of the employees in the kitchen was a bit loud and consistently drew the attention of customers. Overall price and quality of food was great. I enjoyed dining here with the exception of the guy in the kitchen with a projecting voice.

PLEASE DONT SELL THIS ICONIC LOCATION! This is the heart of the Las Palapas-verse. Without it, there is no Las Palapas. I’ve been coming here for 20 years and have spent more money on tacos than one should admit.

Selling this location to help expand to Dallas is a huge mistake! It’s like the kind of decision that a kid out of a fancy grad school would make. “We can add revenue here by expanding our markets.” But the demographic and the heart is completely missing. The same exact thing will happen as it did in Cedar Park / Austin. San Antonio is your core fan base, and this location is way more than revenue…it’s a major part of the Palapas brand.

Please, please, please don’t sell. Mr. CEO we love you, but we really need you to carry on Ron’s legacy in a more thoughtful way.

Signed,

Huge super fan who has come here hundreds of times.

It is a chain

Food is excellent and reasonably priced. Large portions and tasty. I forgot to take pictures but the salad was huge.

Service is great. Paying at the cashier by some people costs them the atmosphere points. Our bill was handled by the server. She wished my sister a happy birthday but did not offer a dessert, which costs nothing when the bill is close to 75 for four.

This location parking was tight

I got the chicken quesadilla, and the chicken was pink on one half, and on the other slice of the quesadilla it was still raw. I guess its hard for them to cook chicken right. This isn’t the first time its happened

The Churchill LP is my Monday & Wednesday go to specials day. We love Enrique/Kike our go to waiter and extremely sad when he’s not there.
Today not only did they hit a home run with the chicken mole plate special but Brooke in the drive thru had phenomenal customer service with a wonderful smile. Keep up the great work.

I have been a loyal LP customer, specifically this location, for 20 plus years. The food is almost always spot on, but the service has become hit or miss since Covid times. Currently, the lady who mans the drive thru is just downright unfriendly. Her name is Ludi. Every time I approach the window I hope she’s not there. She frequently forgets things and has an ugly attitude. I come weekly and I don’t think I’ve ever seen her smile. It’s almost like I, the customer, am a bother. I’ve even seen her texting in plain view. Everyone else I’ve encountered is incredibly pleasant and welcoming. LP is a chain, but this location is one of the oldest, original locations. Is this really who you want as the face of the business?
