We came here, not expecting much. We stopped coming here about a few years ago due to decline in the business and what we expected is what we got nothing got better. All the food was terrible, but the service was great. Lady was super nice and aimed at making the kids happy. We stopped coming here for one reason and we will never return for the same. The food was barely edible. $100 bill down the drain.

My husband and I haven’t been to Johnny Carino’s in about 10 years. The experience 10 years ago wasn’t great. However, we received an offer in the mail that seemed too good to pass up. I will attach the offer in the photos. It was for a free ribeye steak fettuccine alfredo & lasagna meal. The picture looked very appetizing and it looked like a pretty good amount of food. Once we got to the restaurant we could tell it was busy. It looked like there was a company party happening in one of the back rooms. They said they only had one menu left for us to all share, which was perfectly fine with me. The bread that they brought out for the appetizer was delicious! When we asked for more however, they said that we would probably only be able to have 1 or 2 loaves for the night. Apparently there was an issue with a delivery and not having enough supply so I understood. Nothing you can do about that, but still frustrating.

My husband was the one that ordered the meal that was part of the offer we received in the mail. I will attach another photo to show the comparison of what the food actually looked like compared to the visual depiction of the food on the offer photo. I almost laughed out loud when I saw what came out. It looked like a kid’s menu item. The “Ribeye Steak” very well could have been cut up pieces of beef jerky out of a bag. It was honestly comical.

My dish I ordered was the Friday all you can eat shrimp and pasta meal. The pasta tasted like spaghetti sauce out of a can and was nothing special. The shrimp was actually really good and I enjoyed it! There were only a few pieces though, but not a big deal since it was all you can eat right? I asked our waiter for another round since it was “all you can eat” and he told me that I wouldn’t be able to get any more. After questioning him since it was supposed to be all you can eat, he said that he could put in an order for me but it would be about 20+ minutes. At this point we had already been waiting for a long time and I had had enough bad things happen during our whole experience that I didn’t want to have to make that wait for 5 more pieces of shrimp. It was super frustrating that the only thing I actually was impressed with (the bread and the shrimp), I was not allowed to have more of. I did feel bad for the waiter since they were busy, but I did not like feeling like I was burdening them by asking for what I actually ordered. I shouldn’t have to feel scared to ask for more of something that was supposed to be unlimited.

Ultimately, he did take my meal off of the bill because I was not able to order any more of my all you can eat dish, which I was grateful for. And I do try to be understanding of the fact that it was a busy night and it sounded like they had some issues with supply. However, I was surprised that there was an offer sent to many people I’m guessing as hope of drumming up more business when this is the experience that they are providing to new or returning customers. I would think that you would want to make the experience one that would allow for repeat customers.

So the overall takeaway for me was that the bread and shrimp are delicious. However, you may not get the intended “all you can eat” experience and the portion size and quality is a joke. This was the nail in the coffin for me, and I will not ever be eating at Johnny Carino’s again. Save the trip and the money and go somewhere better!

We always have a great experience at Johnny Carino’s. The food is consistently good, and the service is excellent. Jordan has been serving us for a long time and truly deserves recognition – she’s attentive, friendly, and professional every single visit. She makes everything smooth and enjoyable without missing a beat.

The rest of the staff is also welcoming and kind, which makes the whole atmosphere fun and positive. It’s always a great place with an amazing atmosphere to grab lunch and socialize.

Kelsey was our server and she did a great job and kept us taken care of. The food was decent, the penne was good and the wedge salad is excellent. My dining mates weren’t too impressed with the spaghetti or lasagne. The atmosphere is comfortable and has nice music.

Took my daughter here for her birthday. Not sure if it was an off night. Our Italian nachos came out with many chips burnt, very dry, 2 pieces of chicken. We then waited about 20 more minutes for our burgers (it was Wednesday burger night). We had ordered 4. They all came out with a burnt – hard as a rock bun. Our waitress was so amazing. She was the star. Unfortunately 5 of us went hungry. They did comp our entire meal – not that we ate any of it. The place was not busy. Maybe 2 other tables occupied. I was surprised that a manager didn’t come over to apologize. Hopefully just an off night, but probably won’t be back anytime soon. I only took 1 photo, but all the burgers looked about this bad.

This has been one of our favorite places for years and when we’re in Ammon we try to go there. We stopped for a quick lunch after visiting a relative in the hospital before a three hour drive home. Sadly, we were disappointed.

The bread and oil with garlic was amazing as always. My husband got Italian nachos which are always fabulous, but he got them with chicken AND sausage to try it. I recommend sticking with just the sausage, it has more flavor. The chicken wasn’t very good.

I ordered the spaghetti with artichokes but the waitress brought me a different dish and it just wasn’t what I had wanted and not as good. She offered to switch it, but we really didn’t have time to wait for somethings else . There were no discounts or anything for the mistake I only had a bite of the chicken dish she brought out and it wasn’t as good, but we took it home in a box. Hopefully it’s better later.

Overall, we were disappointed in this visit though we have loved it in the past.

We had a wonderful family dining experience at Johnny Carino’s. The kids’ portions were huge—way more than expected—and the food was absolutely amazing, packed with rich, delicious flavor in every bite. Everything came out piping hot and cooked perfectly.
One thing we really appreciated was the atmosphere. It wasn’t loud or chaotic at all, which made it easy to actually sit and have a real family conversation while eating—such a rare and refreshing thing when dining out with kids.
Our server, Kelsey H, truly made the experience exceptional. Our drinks were never empty, our food was spot on, and she delivered everything promptly and with a smile. She was incredibly friendly, happy to accommodate any requests, and absolutely fantastic with the kids. Her positive attitude and attentiveness really stood out.
Overall, this was an outstanding visit, and we’ll definitely be back. Highly recommend Johnny Carino’s—especially if you’re dining with family!

I came in with my family and we really enjoyed the food. We ordered the Italian nachos and mozzarella sticks for appetizers. They were awesome! We ordered the lasagna and steak alfredo. My son ordered the chicken Alfredo. He got the potato soup and everything tasted great! Our server, Kelsey H was great! She was knowledgeable about the menu and was available to help without being pushy. Great service!

We went here last night after not having been in several years. Right away, when you walk in, there’s a funky smell—kind of like a kids’ play area at McDonald’s—which wasn’t great. The place feels very dated and honestly just doesn’t feel clean, like it needs a deep cleaning overall.

The food was just okay at best. We ordered the burger deal, and the burger was barely edible—the person I was with didn’t even finish it. We also had the chicken fettuccine alfredo and paid extra for the chicken, but there was hardly any on it. Definitely not worth the upcharge, and the dish itself wasn’t impressive. Not for $20 something bucks.

Unfortunately, we won’t be coming back.

We went on a Friday evening and there was no wait. We were seated and from bread to the bill, the food was coming consistently. The bread was delicious, the appetizer “Italian nachos” was sooo delicious (surprised), salad was delicious with their vinaigrette dressing and the chicken parm penne festival was good, but too much bacon. Italian soda was also wonderful and free refills. Price was a bit high but worth it. Service was good, it was clean.
