Social Profile:

Founded by Marva Layne, Negril Village has set the standard in Caribbean dining and cuisine. Located in the heart of SOHO moments away from the iconic Washington Square Park and NYU the restaurant entwines cultural heritage with a modern contemporary aesthetic. Our menu has been designed with these same principals in mind, paying homage to traditional Caribbean fare while not fearing to innovate on that foundation. Come join us for dinner and enjoy all that Negril Village has to offer.

Spicy Caribbean fare, potent rum punch & an in-house DJ playing tunes create an island vibe.

excellent service and wonderful ambiance at negril village! the food was definitely delicious. very tender oxtail stew and nicely spicy jerk wings (which are on the happy hour menu)!

also really enjoyed the ginger drink–it packs a punch and makes you feel like you’ll never be sick again. the prices make sense for the ambiance and food was great, so I definitely want to be back!

Negril Village is truly one of my favorite Caribbean restaurants. From the moment you walk in, it feels like home. The restaurant is owned by the amazing Ms. Marva, and while her story deserves its own spotlight, the food alone keeps me coming back.
I started with the jerk shrimp skewers served with ackee & saltfish tostones, and they were absolutely delicious—full of flavor and perfectly cooked. For my entrée, every bite was so good that I left my plate completely clean.
For drinks, I ordered the strawberry lemon drop with tequila, and the bartender really put love into it. Perfectly balanced and one of the best cocktails I’ve had in a while.
If you’re looking for authentic Caribbean food in a space that feels welcoming and soulful, Negril Village is the place to go. And if you’re lucky, you might even get the chance to meet Ms. Marva herself. Tell her I said hello.

Haven’t been here in a while, so we came back for dinner—and I’m so glad we did.

Starting with the service: Anthony was our server and truly did it all. He was the first to greet us when we walked in, made our drinks at the bar, and served us at the table—all with a big smile. He was friendly, attentive, and incredibly helpful throughout the night.

The ambiance was lovely and welcoming. For food, we ordered the oxtails, which were incredibly tender and delicious. It’s rare to find oxtail that isn’t tough or overly fatty, and these absolutely exceeded expectations. We also had the seafood roti, which was full of flavor.

The drinks were excellent as well. Overall, an amazing experience from start to finish. Highly recommend.

Cool atmosphere and beautiful design. The Jamaican dishes were tasty and well presented.

Prices seemed a bit high from our perspective, but maybe that is typical in the US.

Unfortunately, the waiter service was not great that day, which affected the experience slightly.

Definitely a great carribean spot to check out. The food is pretty good especially the curried goat. My only complaint is the serving size, the portions are a bit small for the price. However, the drink menu is amazing. If you genuinely want the BEST piña coladas, this is your spot. The service is good as well, waitresses are friendly and nice but they can be slow with the food even if its not busy. The atmosphere is great, lively music, great vibes, and an even better aesthetic. I highly recommend coming here for dates or to chill with friends.

This was our first visit to Negril Village and I must say it definitely exceeded my expectations! The greeter was very polite. Our server Renae was amazing!! I presented her with my allergy card she was on point she made sure to instruct the chef of all of my allergies and double checked if it was ok to use vegan butter to prepare my meal. I had the curry seafood and I must say it was chefs kiss. I used to have the seafood stew and Negril Bk but this meal was top tier. My husband throughly enjoyed his snapper meal. Ms. Marva was kind enough to step out from the kitchen so I could personally thank her for the care she took with my food and the fact that it still turned out absolutely delicious. This was a great first experience and we’ll definitely be adding this restaurant to our list!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Jamaican food done right!

I visited Negril Village in Brooklyn on a Saturday evening and had an incredible experience from start to finish.

First off, the ambiance is amazing — vibrant colors, stylish decor, and that warm, welcoming island energy. The space is photo-friendly without feeling overdone. We sat upstairs, which gave us a great view of the bar and the whole restaurant. Chill reggae played in the background at just the right volume, setting a relaxed and inviting vibe.

Now for the food and drinks — absolutely delicious! The rum punch is a must-try: sweet, fruity, and made with authentic Wray & Nephew rum for that smooth yet serious island kick. We started with the oxtail egg rolls, and wow — these were the highlight of the meal! Crispy on the outside, tender and flavorful inside, and bursting with perfectly seasoned oxtail. You only get three per order, but they’re so good you won’t even care.

For entrées, I had the Oxtail Rasta Pasta, which was rich, creamy, and full of flavor. My friend ordered the traditional oxtail dinner with rice & peas and mac & cheese on the side — everything was seasoned perfectly and served in hearty portions.

Our server, Anthony, was wonderful — friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming, which made the experience even better.

If you’re looking for authentic Jamaican food with great vibes and top-notch service, Negril Village should be at the top of your list. I’ll definitely be back!

Saturday was a beautiful day. Service was excellent. Our meal was delicious across the board (7 Queens). The beverages were good . The only negative was the bathroom situation. Although communication on that issue could have been better, I will return again.
