The atmosphere at Shades Bar & Grill is lively without being chaotic, making it a great place to hang out after a beach day or grab dinner with family. The menu has a little bit of everything. Fresh seafood, great burgers, and solid appetizers. I ordered the fish tacos and they were fresh, flavorful, and came out quickly. The cocktail menu was also impressive, with a few creative options beyond the typical beach bar fare.
The service was friendly and attentive even though the place was packed. You could tell the team was hustling but still managed to keep things upbeat. Prices are a bit on the higher side, but that’s expected for the area.

This place has more big screen TVs on every ballgame in America! More than Costco and Sam’s Club combined! We’ve loved this sport bar and their burgers are the best! Thick hand-formed patty’s with great brioche buns and whatever else you could want on top. If you’re going to totally blow your diet out of the water: try the onion rings for $2 upcharge ( or great fries at N/C ).
It might surprise you but they do great food that you’d never expect at a sports bar! I’ve had their Salmon Pad Thai so many times and it’s always a real treat. Specify just how HOT you want the steam to leave the top of your head! Ha!
They have multiple indoor and outdoor seating areas. Huge groups welcome. It can get loud depending on what game is popular! The manager is a great guy and he runs a tight ship with many happy servers and cook staff. Parking is plentiful and the food is the best I’ve ever seen in a sports bar. Think you’ll love it!

Shades bar & grill review. Food 3 stars burgers were kind of frozen. Chicken tenders were pretty good and cooked. Service 5 stars Servers instantly sat my family down. My phone was dying and they let me plug it in at the front. It was clean we had a good time. Good vibes. Also had music.

Food, drinks and service was all OUTSTANDING!! Nikki and Kenzie made fantastic drinks and were the sweetest and the chef cooked everything to perfection!! I mean fried food that was tender and NOT greasy, nice crunch, tender fish and shrimp without the heavy oily/greasy accompaniment. Will definitely be back when coming through this area!! Thank you!!

When I fly into Panama City Airport to come visit my Mom and my side of the family we go to eat at Shades. It’s just a welcoming place where people seem to be enjoying their time spent there. This is because the staff is very helpful and efficient. We ordered our dinners and minutes it was on our table.

We were coming in from out of town and this place pop up. It was indeed packed out the wait was about 30 minutes. Our server was supposed to be Jodi but her team member stepped in to help her out and she insisted he took our table. He was great! Knowledgeable and helped pick our meals. At the end of the meal Jodi comes back and said she’s out server which it sucked because now we have too tip out two people. Any who’s our bill $135.59. be careful with the side request they add up. I suggest if you get steak hibachi get the yum.yum sauce on the side.

After going to 2 different restaurants tonight and being unhappy with service, we decided on Shades. We were greeted Immediately by a warm and caring manager named Joe. He made us feel welcome as soon as we stepped in the door. Our food was delicious and came out super fast!!! But my point in writing this review is to rave on how amazing Joe is. If the food was horrible, we would honestly come back just to see him. Thank you Joe for giving us a memorable dinner!!!! (Mind you this was at almost 10 pm and his attitude was still superior)

First time here. Stopped in for dinner on a Friday evening, and got seated right away. Our server was super good, friendly, helpful and offered us samples of the food and beer. It helped.
Ordered a Calamari appetizer. It was a big order with crispy pieces, with jalapenos and okra. would have liked to have some small whole calamari, and not just the rings.
Ordered the shrimp/chicken fry, salad with shrimp, and flatbread pizza. The pizza and salad were very good. The fried foods over breaded and bit greasy.
Good for a quick bite, but not some place that I’m aching to get back to.

We welcomed our Navy sailor home from his nine month deployment yesterday and chose Shades to have our family celebration luncheon! What an AWESOME choice! From the professional way our calls , planning and set up were taken care of with Rebecca to our departure after lunch was over everything was flawless. Our waiter, Nick took exceptional care of our party of sixteen! He was so attentive, courteous and his enthusiastic attitude completed a family celebration and memory we will all carry with us a very long time. Thank you Rebecca, Nick and the serving team at Shades, Panama Beach FL!!
