I stopped for a quick dinner in between event times. The front staff was very friendly and I was seated immediately. My waiter didn’t come to my table until after 10 minutes or so. He said he forgot because he was having a conversation. I got the pork shank and was very happy with the food quality. I wish my waiter had been better but I would still visit this restaurant again.

Located in the heart of Colonial Williamsburg, DoG Street Pub is a great spot to grab a quick lunch. The food was decent, though I found the menu a bit restrictive when it comes to modifications. For example, they have a Caesar chicken wrap on the menu, but when I asked if I could just get a plain chicken wrap with a side of buffalo sauce, I was told it wasn’t an option.

A small note: they serve fries, but these aren’t listed under the sides on the menu, which was a bit confusing. On a less positive note, the Brussels sprouts were some of the worst I’ve ever seen—definitely not something I’d recommend.

On the upside, their drinks were well-crafted, strong, and enjoyable. We especially had fun trying their variety of meads, ordering several to sample. It’s a fun place to pop into, though I wouldn’t consider it for a special occasion or a sit-down dinner.

We were seated quickly, but the tables are packed close together, so it’s not very intimate—you can easily overhear conversations from neighbors. Overall, the vibe is more casual bar than traditional restaurant.

We got a table right away. It was downstairs, and Sean was our wait staff. He brought a bottle of water while we perused the menus.

It was as cozy downstairs as upstairs, with wooden tables and chairs and flat screen TVs. Husband ordered the wedge salad and I had the chicken salad wrap with chips. Both of us thought the food was very good, as was the service!

Really enjoyed the location of this restaurant. We chose to dine outside and had a great view of Merchant Square. It just happened to be a Monday night which we found out was the Dog Street Pub Running Club’s weekly 5k run. It was nice to watch the community participation. A lot was going on since Dog Street Pub is the homebase for the run. Now for the meal… My husband opted for the very large grilled hotdog with onion-chili and cheese on the side. He enjoyed it a lot. I offered for a really tasty sandwich, consisting of fried egg plant slices, accompanied by marinated green tomato, goat cheese, hummus and spinach on a delicious nut bread. We both loved the accompanying chips that came with our meal. Appeared to have a nice beer selection as well. Our server was wonderful and very friendly. Overall, it was a great experience.

My wife and I have been locals in Williamsburg for 23 years. Early on when this pub opened up, we frequent it due to it. It’s very large expensive beer menu. We also liked sitting outside having an appetizer or meal and enjoying Colonial Williamsburg. Decided to come back after a couple years hiatus since the weather was so nice.

We were only one table of three sitting outside and inside was only 1/4 full. We both ordered burgers, my wife, a pub burger and myself a lamb burger which I’ve had many times over. We ordered my wife’s burger as medium and my lamb burger as medium well as that is normal for this burger. My wife’s burger came out well done and my Lamb burger was totally raw. The service was slow to begin with, but when I asked our waiter to re-grill my Lamb burger it disappeared not to return for almost 30 minutes. By that time, my wife had eaten a cold burger, and I never received my food. This without a doubt is one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had at a restaurant. Being a local here and familiar with the restaurant, I would say there would be no way for me to recommend it to anyone. The service was horrible, the food was horrible, and they never rectified the problem. I can’t speak in a more negative way about any restaurant in Williamsburg.

The first meal I’ve had in a while that I was actually impressed by! The Reuben croquettes were so delicious and different than anything I’ve ever had. The pork shank was to die for! Fall off the bone meat, great mash. We will be back!

Pretty good sheps pie. Inly downside is its a little pricy. But given the area i can see why.

I would come back for sure.

According to my 15 year old son this place serves the best sandwiches South of New York. Delicious quick bites, great drinks and good selection of brews. One thing I would change is to dim the lights in the evening and change to some ambient lighting to accent the interior

Although our visit was due to a planned event through the Hilton Grand, I must say it was more than what we expected. We knew an event was planned but we thought that we were going to order food that was prepaid. Instead, we received a well-planned full-course meal with drinks and a thorough education on the drinks. We also had planned to purchase souvenirs but souvenirs were given as well as the recipes for the delicious drinks. I must say that Sydney did an awesome job planning this event and the DoG Street Pubs crew was also amazing. We both thank you all for the well-thought-out event and the pleasure of meeting several people that were also Hilton Members. Thank you so much
