The place has a rustic, beachy vibe that’s super laid-back and welcoming. While we waited, we browsed the gift shops and walked the docks where you can feed the fish—such a fun and unique experience that added to the charm.
The food was amazing. We tried the shrimp and grits, grilled fish platters, and Boudreaux’s Favorite Supper. Everything was cooked perfectly and full of flavor. The hush puppies deserve a special mention—just the right amount of sweetness with a perfect crunchy bite.
Our server, Sandy, was phenomenal—friendly, attentive, and made our dinner even more enjoyable.
If you’re in PCB and looking for great seafood with a relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere and excellent service, Boondocks is a must!
That said, I was disappointed with how the pricing was handled. I ordered the lunch special: two pieces of catfish with two sides for $14.99. When the waitress asked what the kids were having, I explained they were just going to share with us. Instead of clarifying options, she suggested switching the meal from lunch to dinner, which became three pieces of catfish and two sides for $22.99.
What bothered me wasn’t the price itself—it was that this change wasn’t clearly explained upfront. For that difference, I could’ve simply ordered an additional meal instead of being automatically bumped to a more expensive option. It felt a bit deceptive and left a sour note on an otherwise great experience.
Amazing food, but clearer communication about pricing would go a long way. Transparency matters just as much as taste.
Bottom line. Cool place with neat appearances and really good food. The assembly line experience isn’t welcoming or fun. I at least like to taste my food. Maybe open the place up more if you want to serve more people.
