Normally, Ray and I go to independently owned restaurants, not franchises or corporate restaurants, but we have eaten and I have reviewed all of the close local to Roy restaurants.
After a busy Friday and Saturday of teaching lessons and two horse experiences, I was done and my kitchen was closed. We hadn’t been to Denny’s, in quite some time so we decided to go there, mostly because of proximity. Bad idea.
We were warmly greeted by the staff and immediately seated. It was dinner time, yet the restaurant was nearly empty. That should have been my first clue that this might not have been a good idea.
I had seen a sign as we came in for a mango peach mimosa. That sounded good so I ordered one. Our server was not 21 so there was a bit of a wait, which was fine. It looked appetizing but when I tasted it, the champagne was flat and the mimosa was warm. I requested a glass of ice which was delivered right away.
I ordered the Chicken bacon ranch sandwich with mayonnaise instead of ranch dressing and seasoned fries. Ray ordered the pot roast melt with wavy fries and an Oreo milkshake.
Our meals were made quickly and delivered hot to the table. While everything looked good, our entire meal was rather tasteless and bland. The seasoned fries were awful and bad enough that when we ate the rest of our meal at home, my French fry loving parrot, dropped the fry after one bite and refused a second one. Ray said his milkshake tasted like it was watered down.
Our server was attentive, polite and non-obtrusive. She knew something wasn’t right but had I told her what was wrong I don’t know what she could have done to fix it. I don’t know what I could have said or done to help besides ordering something g completely different. I was too tired to want to go that route.
I don’t blame the staff. Everyone was doing their best. Our meal was enough of a turnoff we won’t be returning. Sorry, Denny’s. We have had good meals there and at other locations as well. Prices being what they are, even with a discount it is not worth the gamble.

Our waiter was awesome! He was very friendly, informative, and attentive. A very happy individual.
This was my first time at this Dennys location. I had signed up for the rewards program. For my birthday they offered me a free meal. The picture is what I chose.
The biscuits were perfect, along with the flavorful sausage gravy. My eggs were cooked exactly as I had ordered them. The bacon was crispy and yummy.

This Denny’s is our favorite place for Breakfast and Lunch. The service is friendly and welcoming, our food is always hot and exactly what we ordered. The burgers are the absolute BEST! Well done Spanaway Denny’s!

Stomach hurts an it’s 0600 am. Me and my wife bought here for the first the, the bourbon bugers and mozzarella sticks. First, it was priced for $70!! What am I paying for gold?? Second, it was below average taste wise. And the best part, my stomach is killing me for the past 3 hours. DONT NOT EAT HERE, l’d eat gas station sushi instead.

The waitress kept saying she’s really busy. She didn’t have no time to make no milkshakes no time to get us refills on our drinks. She brought over half filled drink to give to my son cause she didn’t have time to fill it all the way there is no ice in the cups. , very unprofessional, she had a lot cants instead of can do we were forced to do a review to get five dollars off on a drink to make her look good ( her name started with a K I think ) and she thought my son said something and said something wrong in a rude voice

I hate to rate it low, but there were only 3 employees there and we ended up waiting a very long time with our 2 kids. The staff that was there was amazing, very kind and they worked hard, they just needed more staff.

Historically, we have not had good luck at this location. However, we have been twice in the last week for late, late night dinners. Javohn was our server both times. He’s attentive enough to not be annoying and didn’t wait until I had a mouthful of food before coming to the table. Our drinks were always full and we had plenty of napkins without asking. Our food was hot, fresh and came out exactly as we asked for it. Javohn and the night cook are the reasons we will continue to come back to Denny’s!!
