A Wonderful Evening at Roaring Fork
My recent dinner at Roaring Fork in Scottsdale was absolutely delightful from start to finish. This restaurant truly delivers on both food quality and service.

Our server Austin was exceptional throughout the evening. His attentiveness, knowledge of the menu, and genuine warmth made our dining experience feel special. It’s rare to find service that strikes the perfect balance between being helpful and allowing you to enjoy your meal at your own pace, but Austin nailed it.

Now, onto the food—everything was phenomenal. The steak was cooked to perfection, with a beautiful sear on the outside while remaining tender and juicy inside. Each bite was full of flavor and clearly prepared with care and expertise. The wine selection complemented our meal beautifully, with each glass thoughtfully chosen to enhance the dining experience.

We finished with dessert, which was the perfect ending to an already outstanding meal. Rich, indulgent, and beautifully presented, it was exactly what we were hoping for.

If you’re in Scottsdale and looking for a memorable dining experience with top-notch food and service, Roaring Fork should be at the top of your list. Ask for Austin if you can—he’ll take great care of you!

I guess I should have had a burger and fries, that seems to drive many of the reviews. I arrived at the Scottsdale location at 5 pm, the bar was slammed but the dining area was just getting going. I was seated by the pass shelf where the food is picked up. There was a manager expediting tickets and while I know he saw me, as did several others picking up food, after 5 minutes of not being greeted other than a busser dropping me a water I finally had to ask if there was a waiter for this station. They got one, nice guy, and I inquired as to which he’d recommend, the Duroc Pork Chop or Shrimp n Grits. He spoke highly of the shrimp so that’s what I went with. Wrong, I should know better to order that at anyplace that isn’t Cajun. Aside from the fact it was bland, it was just barely warm. It appears a slice of cheese is put on top of the grits and under the egg. It was not melted, pretty sad. I was starving and the waiter didn’t come back by to check so I ate it. I saw another server bringing what looked to be the same dish back to the line to be warmed, I inquired if it was the shrimp n grits and she confirmed and then told my waiter about mine. He did comp it. The salad was slightly wilted and average at best. I was very excited about Huckleberry cheesecake and the server assured me they fly in a frozen Huckleberry puree just for this. That said I assumed it would be incorporated into the cheesecake as is done anywhere in Montana, if it was you couldn’t tell. There was a bit of drizzle but again not enough to impart any flavor. The cup of coffee ordered with it never came. Neither did a manager. I eat out a lot, this is the longest review I’ve ever written. I see many have had a great experience, I’m glad. That was not mine. So many amazing restaurants in the valley and I’m only here for three nights, bummed that one of the dinners was such a disappointment. I ate at The Henry last night, it was a great meal with exceptional service. I ended up at Sweet Republic tonight for an ice cream after the disappointing cheesecake, worth stopping by as well. Grabbed a coffee at Circle K, rant over.

Great atmosphere, easy to talk with one another. Good burgers, salmon, tortilla soup, salads and chicken.

I got the bacon wrapped pork loin and my husband got the 3 course special with ribeye. Both were quite tasty. We were sat right next to the kitchen/expo area so it was a bit noisier and darker than I anticipated. Food and dessert came quickly and the server was really nice.

How do I start…..l eat out often and don’t consider myself a fussy or demanding customer, but my party of 4 had 1 way overcooked NY Strip steak (wanted M/Rare), 1 overcooked Halibut (hard to cut with a knife) and 1 slightly overcooked NY Strip steak (wanted M/Well, got Well). The short rib dish was the only good meal in the group. The meal took about 40 min to get the main dish which was a long time. We all ordered from the 3 course menu option that included a desert. Now comes desert…3 of us wanted the cheesecake then later told they were out of cheesecake. We didn’t want the other options and asked if they could substitute a desert from the regular menu in place of the cheesecake. We were told no. Our very young server should have tried to get some accommodation from his manager but did not. The 3 of us reluctantly took the Pecan Pie. 2 of us got the pie right away but the 3rd had to wait 5 minutes because it was not readily available. The whole experience was a let down throughout the meal. All 4 of us, myself being local and our friends being visitors was our first time at this place. After a let down experience, the bill came and with tip, we were over $400. I never mind paying money for a decent meal, but this was by far not worth the overpriced meal we experienced. I strongly would not recommend nor will we return to this restaurant. I do hope a manager or someone within the company reads this review. For reference, we had reservations at 6:30 on a Friday night.

I have eaten at Roaring Fork in Scottsdale a handful of times before my most recent visit, I have always liked this restaurant because the food was delicious and the atmosphere extremely pleasant. I recently went again and upon entering the restaurant I could immediately tell that something was different. The Caesar salad was ok at best, not much flavor or even memorable. The Shrimp cocktail was different than last time I had it, this time it was served with the cocktail sauce already on the shrimp not shrimp in the sauce, the tails had been removed which was a nice touch. I also had mashed potatoes with my meal and they were also served warm, not hot, no butter was offered and none present in the potatoes, they were served lumpy on purpose which was fine but they were not flavored very much…I thought they were just ok and on the bland side. The food is good but not up to par for a restaurant of this caliber. I do not believe we will come back, because it is not what is used to be, the pricing is upscale but the atmosphere is not.

Absolutely delicious!! Happy hour is amazing but either get there when they open or wait an hour. The Huckleberry margaritas are the way to go but be careful they sneak up on you!! The burger and fries were also amazing!!

Austin, our server, was so warm and funny and welcoming. He made the evening so much fun.

The food is absolutely delicious, and there are plenty of options available even if you are gluten-free and dairy free like myself.

I loved my bacon wrapped pork chop, and my husband loved his perfectly cooked steak.
Thank you so much for giving us an evening to remember!

The food was excellent. The steaks were divine. The mushrooms and the truffle fries will have a special place in my heart for always. The bathrooms could use a little work. It would be nice of the appetizers came with serving utensils.
