When simplicity meets French gastronomy, you want to be part of this great marriage! That’s exactly what La Cave achieves in Kerameikos, in a market like Greece where dining often sits between fine and…folk.
Outstanding products, top quality, warm service, and a thoughtfully curated wine list, all at reasonable prices. Even the salted creamy butter on the crusty baguette was enough to transport you to France. The cheeses and cold cuts were excellent, as well as the meats. We had also possibly the best oysters in town.
I can’t wait to go back!

La cave is one of the most authentic French wine bars in Athens. The service is impeccable and everyone is friendly and polite! If you consider going for the wine you will find out that the food is also a big deal! The chefs are doing their magic and have different recipes every week! I’ve also been there for brunch and the croissants are out of this world

I was really excited to visit on my own and trying their fondue. The fondue was served on a hot plate (!!!) and got cold in minutes. The cheese got chewy and you could not dip the bread or potatoes. I did not complain at the time as I was hungry and later they offered to reheat. What was the point. Moreover, they charged me for 2 persons (!!!!) even if they showed me beforehand that they had used half a portion of the package. So end of the story, you eat in a canteen with plastic cutlery, drink fine wine in a plastic glass,
overpay and eat cold fondue. 20€ for one person!!!
