The shrimp and grits were outstanding. Each of the flavors were distinct yet combined well. The cheese grits were distinctly cheese, the roux was smoky and there was a sweet drizzle. The shrimp was cooked perfectly so it was tender and flavorful. The sausage was just enough to complement with a meaty flavor.
The beet and citrus salad was so fresh, with locally sourced ingredients. The freshness of the greens in every bite, complemented by the vinaigrette, provided a mouthful of flavor.
Cory was our server. He provided a short history of the conversion from stable to restaurant. The sequence of seating to serving was great timing, great service without being overbearing.
After the house tour we came back for dessert. It tastes as good as it looks!
Will look forward to eating here again at my next visit.

Firstly… if you visit, dont trust maps to get you there once inside the estate. Use the signs and find a parking lot, then shuttle to the house and café. We spent 15 minutes following Google maps only to realize all the roads were not open to the public.
Now, what you came for. The place is packed so make a reservation. It is a beautifully renovated stable area with amazing food. My wife and I both had the burger with bacon, fries, and a drink. I had the spicy bloody Mary, which was strong and spicy.
The burger isnt cooked to temp, but really more like two smash patties piled high. It was delicious and likely top 10 burgers ive ever had. I’ve been all over and Gordon Ramsey still has #1 title.
The area is open and the motif is eye-popping.

There are several eating options while visiting the Biltmore Estate, but the Stable Cafe is undoubtedly the most unique, memorable dining you can have. The Stable Cafe is adjacent to the main house which makes it very convenient. When coordinated with your Mansion Tour, booking a timed reservation ahead of time online makes for easy seating. Otherwise, you are subject to a undetermined wait time. Once the storage and repair shop for carriages and stables for horses, but now renovated into a large, bustling, nostalgic eatery serving delicious entrees, the Stables offers a huge dining area accommodating groups of any size. Smaller sittings have been situated within the former horse stalls lining the wall. That’s definitely fun! The menu features casual dining with barbecue, burgers and sandwiches. We chose to split the Appalachian Sampler, which turned out to be plenty and a savings for two people. Each items was absolutely brilliant. Generally, I avoid grits, but the creamy, cheddar cheese grits was fabulous. I had trouble sharing. The Applewood smoked pulled pork, and local Spicewalla roasted chicken was excellent the way it was prepared. No need to add sauce for flavor. Though the Carolina honey mustard and cranberry bbq sauces were killer. I loved the house pickled vegetables. And the southern potato salad, vinegar coleslaw, and the Cheerwine bbq baked beans were so so good! Combined with a glass of sweet tea, I was in Dixie heaven. I must add it would have been nice to have had the cornbread rather than rolls as our bread. It worked out as they were great for wiping up the remains of the the beans and potato salad. Don’t miss the culinary experience at the Stable Cafe when you visit the Biltmore.

We had a nice dinner here however they really need to tell you when you makes reservations the regular daytime menu changes when they reopen for dinner.
Offerings are good but so much priceier!
Two entrees with drinks, etc was close to $400
Our server told us this has been an ongoing issue.

The beef bourguignon was very good. The risotto was too salty and a bit of a disappointment. The red velvet cake was better than expected. Overall, it was too expensive, but it’s the Biltmore and everything is expensive. It was good enough that I didn’t feel at all cheated by the experience, though not so good that I would return to the Biltmore just to eat here.
The service was excellent and we got everything quickly without feeling rushed.

We made a reservation and even with quite a line we were seated right on time. The folks in front of us were not seated until about 30 minutes later. So I would highly recommend using open table to reserve your table. This was a great option for lunch without leaving the estate. We ordered a starter of cornbread with sorghum butter and it was really tasty. My wife had the chicken salad croissant and she enjoyed it. I ordered the brisket with Mac and cheese. Also rally good. Our server was kind and very attentive. Great atmosphere with a busy bustling sound combined of lots of conversations at the surrounding tables along with the open kitchen in the background. I would absolutely dine here again. The price was very reasonable!

We ate at this cafe while visiting The Biltmore Estate. I was impressed! They had lots of safe gluten- free options and the food was AMAZING!

Dined as a part of the 3 course candlelight dinner before visiting the Biltmore. Service was a touch slow and the server forgot a few things – food was delicious, especially the pork chop. A little disappointed the service didn’t match the great setting and food quality.

Love the ambiance. The waiter was great too. The food was very disappointing, especially considering the price.
The cornbread appetizer was a single piece, very sweet, like cake, but was a decent start. Then my dish was the salad with citrus and beets. The salad itself was really good. The added $11 chicken was not. I think it was roasted, very small amount, didn’t taste right, and definitely didn’t pair well. It was a waste to upgrade it and drew away from the salad. If it have been grilled, it would have made more sense. The bourguignon is described like steak and potatoes. For the average customer, we didn’t see a bowl of soup. They really need to emphasize that. It’s basically pot roast in soup. The soup had a few snack pieces of potatoes and a single tiny sad piece of beef. It was mostly the red sauce and a couple of pieces of garlicky bread. My wife hated it. She was mostly upset at spending over $30 on a bowl of soup, that really should have been a side. She ate it, but felt very unsatisfied and left that hungry. I looked it up while eating and every single picture online looked 100% better. Finally the peach creme brulee, that was great. No complaints there at all. My recommendation, avoid the soup. Don’t add meat to the salad. Enjoy an appetizer or dessert. Possibly skip the entree all together. If we go back I’d be likely to try the burger or another salad.
