A Delicious Experience at Chicago’s Pizza on Blanco Road!
I recently had the pleasure of visiting Chicago’s Pizza on Blanco Road in San Antonio, and I have to say, I was thoroughly impressed! From the moment I walked in, AJ and the other staff made me feel right at home, offering excellent service with a smile.
The pizza itself was absolutely fantastic. The crust was perfectly crispy on the outside, yet soft and chewy on the inside. I went for the classic deep dish, and it did not disappoint – rich, savory, and packed with fresh ingredients. The cheese melted beautifully, and the layers of toppings were just the right amount of flavorful without overwhelming the dish.
I also appreciated how they took their time with each order to ensure everything was just right. The atmosphere inside the restaurant was casual and welcoming, making it a great spot for a family meal or a night out with friends.

Best pizza I’ve had in a long time. So good that my husband and I ordered twice within 3 days. I use to live in Wisconsin and we would drive to Chicago twice a month to get a deep dish pizza and of course Chinese food from China Town and this pizza is truly amazing. Bravo

Great deep dish! A friendly neighborhood restaurant. Nice people, realistic time frame. Chicago style pizza took 40 minutes as advertised. But man, the cheese, sauce, and crust were so tasty!

**THIS IS A CRITIQUE NOT JUST BASHING AS I LOVE THIS PLACE**
This pizza place used to be my absolute favorite. For a long time the food was consistently really good, and it was the spot I would recommend to anyone without even thinking twice. But over time, especially as they made changes to the place, something has seriously gone downhill with the pizza. At first, when I got a couple bad pies, I tried to brush it off and told myself it was just an off day. It happens to the best of us. But then it kept happening, and it became more and more noticeable that the quality just is not what it used to be. I am honestly not sure what the issue is. The staff are always nice and wonderful, so this is not about how I am treated there. But I do not know if it is newer staff not being fully trained on the recipe, if the recipe or ingredients changed, or if the pizzas just are not being cooked thoroughly. Lately the pizza has been consistently on the raw or undercooked side, and the overall taste and texture just are not good. And it is not just me. Me and a lot of people I know have said the same thing. The food here has gone downhill. It honestly pains me to leave this review because I want this place to be my favorite again. I am saying this because I hope the owners or management see it and take it seriously, because this place used to be great, and I would love to be able to recommend it like I used to. Overall this place isn’t the worst because it really not, it is a solid pizza place, just a lot of regular’s left because of this deterioration of quality (my whole friend group is a good example and I know for a fact this sentiment was forward to others which really does suck). I want to love this place again.

Listen…. it’s a no from me. While the pizza its self was not bad. . There was a hair in our salad which was excusable almost.. the wine was not cold, the glass still had the sticker on it out of the box indicating it hadnt been washed, there were roaches looming over our table in the light fixtures, the waitress addressed our table with food in her mouth multiple times. Again, the pizza was pretty good… a 6/10 maybe but the establishment was filthy.

Large hand tossed for $8 on Saturday. Honestly the best deal in town. I haven’t had thier actual deep dish but this had value and was delicious, I will get this special again.

We were here for a total of 2 and a half hours and only about 10 minutes of that time were spent actually eating. We waited close to an hour and a half for our Chicago style pizza when the very nice and understanding staff member came out and he told us that the order was never put in. (Seems to be a common occurrence for this restaurant according to the reviews) He offered free appetizers and if we came within the next 10 days we could get the same pizza for free. Which i thought was a little weird because why not the free pizza now for that long wait? But i understand. He asked if we were willing to wait again, but if not then we had the deal that he mentioned. We ended up waiting the extra 40mins for our pizza. It was really good but not worth the wait sadly. I feel for the staff because it seemed like a very stressful environment. Anyways, we found out at the end of our meal when we paid that we could call in our order ahead of time to even dine in as well. Would be a better option for future reference but even at that i’m not sure i would trust the food coming out at a decent time. I should’ve read the reviews before coming here.
