Be aware I became ill eating from here!!!! I literally had Papa‘s barbecue downtown the day before and it was delicious. Today I came into this location seeking the same experience that I had the day before and it was totally different. First off I ordered the brisket sandwich. This is the one with the Texas toast, cheese, and brisket meat. I received sliced beef on a bun.& The meat was dry and hard. Definitely didn’t taste FRESH AND This is not what I ordered and didn’t realize it until I made it home. Due to a long day at work and being exhausted I just ate the sandwich. I ordered the fries, they gave me pickles, onions, and a jalapeño. This was literally the only thing I had to eat all day. I had been drinking water all day and was perfectly fine. Literally after eating the sandwich around 5 PM, around 8 PM. I was up vomiting. I was extremely sick. After throwing up everything that I ate, I felt better immediately. I will not be returning to this particular location and be aware.

You guys really keep earning these low ratings. My wife went to pick up a baked potato for my dinner and I come home thinking she picked at the brisket from my potato.. no it’s just pappas bbq skimping meat for a potato that WE paid $20 for. Does that look like a $20 baked potato? Please do better. I’ve gotten better portions from REAL Texas bbq spots. Terrible service and even terrible portions. This wasn’t even Sliced brisket this is literally fatty burnt ends that were probably the last bits. SMH. Not even a 1/4 pound of meat on this potato. Also p.s this potato was given out within less than 2 minutes of ordering. I know it wasn’t fresh.

Just picked my order To Go, Beef 3/4 lb & 3 beef rib with potato.
Beef brisket very good & Beef ribs very bad, just huge bones no meat, not sure if that was 15 years old cow at death row, paid $ 29.85 just for the Ribs – have no time to drive back to show to the manager on duty probably he would agree that was not to be this way treating clients – sorry, will never ever order Ribs from you.

I ordered the Combination platter.
Which includes, Beef brisket, Ham, Pulled pork and beef Sausage. Also came with 2 sides , and i ordered an extra side. The meat servings were very small but alot for one person. The sides are one scoop serving what appeared like. Overall, the Meat was seasoned well and super tender. Sides i ordered were, Mac & Cheese, beans, potato salad and dirty rice!! Loved them all!!
Just up the serving SIZE AND ILL GIVE 5 stars!! Yall still got DAMN GOOD BBQ AFTER 39 yrs of visiting yalls restaurant!! See yall next time!! Oh, YEAH!!! Ill b back!!!

Cool spot, worth a visit if you’re wanting to try all the Pappas family joints. As for the food: the chicken had a great seasoning and skin to it, but the inside meat was bland. The brisket was alright, a little dry. Of the sides, I thought the cream corn was awesome and the dirty rice was OK, but the mac was mid, tasting kinda like store bought.

Ordered the beef Trio and the beef ribs was horrible meat stuck the bone and the part that did come of was dry. The brisket was doused in black pepper. I would never try again. The sides and the beef sausage were fine . I will never order this again. And the Manager cant quite remember her name started with La something was handled the order incorrectly. Had ro call corporate office.

Delicious! I had the brisket sandwich with coleslaw and sweet tea. Best chopped brisket I’ve had in a long time! The brisket was tender and flavorful. The bun was toasted perfectly, yet still soft. The coleslaw was very good too. The sweet tea could be a little sweeter, but it was still good.
The restaurant was clean and is pretty big with booth seating and regular chair options. There is an outdoor patio with picnic table bench seats and ceiling fans for hot days. The service was good. Line style ordering with cafeteria trays. Buffet topping bar available with onions, pickles, jalapeños, etc. Multiple barbecue sauces from sweet to smokey. Restrooms were well maintained and smelled pleasant. $41.00 for 2 to dine and no tip shaming! A++++
