I so badly want to rate this place 5/5.

The food is absolutely astonishingly delicious. Extremely high quality, good portions, and a wide variety of sushi and sashimi.

Very good selection of exotic and seasonal meats and a good wine menu too. Beers are good but nothing special.

Service was slow, we had ordered 2 soups that never came (thankfully weren’t charged for). It seems like they forgot about us at the beginning and at the end so that was unfortunate.

The food is out of this world, won’t stop coming as we can’t get enough of it.

I visited Ken Sushi House late one night in November 2025 with my partner while we were in the middle of a show at the Maxwell. It was already quite late (around 8:30 p.m.), and most nearby sushi spots—like Exclamation Waterloo and Oka Sushi—were closed, so we were grateful that Ken Sushi House was still open and within walking distance.

We ordered the Small Sushi Boat ($65 for 40 pieces). Overall, we enjoyed it, but as someone who’s had a lot of sushi, I wouldn’t say it was particularly impressive or memorable. The quality was decent, though it felt a bit pricey for what was served.

That said, the experience was still pleasant thanks to the very friendly staff, which made us feel welcome despite the late hour. The restaurant itself felt a little dated and could benefit from some renovations, but it was a solid, reliable option when choices were limited late at night.

Got the otoro sushi and was very disappointed. It was extremely fishy and the texture was crunchy like it was frozen in certain parts.

The green dragon, Mt.Fuji, and other rolls were fine but nothing outstanding.

Went home and didnt feel great. My partner vomited that night. Will not be going back.

Ken Sushi is one of those rare places that stays consistently amazing, no matter how many times you visit. I’ve been coming here for several years now, and I can genuinely say that the quality has never slipped. It’s actually one of the reasons I keep returning. The fish is always incredibly fresh, beautifully prepared, and full of flavour. You can really taste the quality in every bite, whether you’re ordering sashimi, rolls, or their specialty items. It’s hard to find sushi places that maintain this level of consistency over the years, and Ken Sushi continues to impress me every single time.

Food and service has always been amazing and welcoming. The staff are friendly and helpful and the dishes are both plentiful and delicious. A Waterloo staple!

I used to live at ICON and came here often. They have lots of specialty rolls that are really delicious! Their platters are also a great deal — the portions are so big I can never finish them.

First time I’ve been to KEN Sushi. Service staff was very friendly and the food was served to the table pretty quick.

Portion size is definitely worth while for the a la carte price. Forgot to take pictures of everything because we were so hungry!

I think next time I come I’ll try one of the boats!

Honestly, very disappointing. Not my first time here, I had wonderful experiences here before, but this time was like a scam. On menu, it says the spring roll dish has 6pcs, but they only serve 5pcs, when being asked, they said it’s because they are serving larger pieces of the spring roll now, so they are only giving us 5, like what the fun? You should either amend the menu, or just serve me 6pcs of whatever sizes it is!

Then for the premium crab meat, oh my world, it’s just regular crab stick, and causing me $2 plus tax each stick? Come on, you think customers are stupid?

And then, the lunch sets should include both salad and soup, they didn’t serve us those until we ask about it, at the first we asked the boss lady, she said she will bring soup, but then when we mention about the salad, she said “salad, no”, like what do you mean?! It’s says in the menu they are both included! I could have sued them honestly, for being dishonest to a great extent! Later, we asked another server, she served us the salad as well.

One more thing is, the boss lady keeps selling us some of the specials of the day, please, you didn’t even serve us what we asked for, stop asking us stuff just fulfill your bare minimum first!!

The fish was fresh, clean-tasting, and sliced properly. The staff were friendly and the service was relaxed but attentive. I also tried the warm sake, which was smooth and paired well with the meal, Overall, a solid spot for quality sushi and sashimi, I would definitely come back.

Decent place! Their sashimi is fresh, and a fair price. Their rolls are pretty good, especially the crunchy spicy salmon roll. I would say their rolls are above average in the area, a 7.5/10. Their white tuna sashimi are absolutely amazing, I don’t know why their’s just taste better than any other places (10/10). I’ve also ordered other non-sushi dishes, but they are kind of mid, but still okay (6/10).

Place is nice, service is good, highly recommended!
