Older: Alriiight food was Great, atmosphere decent and service not so much. I ordered two tacos that tasted very well. They were rather small (see photo), but satisfying. The mocktail I asked for was not the one I received which I could tell by the taste and then the name of the drink on the bill. We were not asked how our food or drink were. We felt rushed out and received our bill before being asked if we wanted anything else such as dessert. ♂️
Let’s start with the service, which was largely a bright spot. We were quoted a 15-minute wait and were seated in under five, which was excellent. Our servers greeted us promptly and were attentive throughout the meal. The only reason I deducted a star was that I had to ask for a refill, which felt like a small but noticeable miss.
As for the food, coming from Las Vegas it almost feels unfair to judge, but average is the most accurate description. The Tijuana Chicken taco was surprisingly bland, lacking the depth of flavor one would expect. The spicy birria tacos were better, but still nothing memorable. The rest of the table had similar experiences: the dishes weren’t bad, just uninspired, clearly designed to appeal to the median palate rather than stand out. Everything was fine, just not great.
We sat inside, and while the décor was stylish and created a relaxed, comfortable vibe, the seating was a letdown. The metal chairs are uncomfortable and feel more suited for a 12-year-old than an adult enjoying a sit-down meal.
Overall, Nectar Urban Cantina isn’t a bad choice, but it doesn’t quite live up to its potential. With more attention to bold flavors and a bit more comfort in the dining area, it could rise above being simply “okay.”
Ordered the Guacamole and chips with a Birria Taco and some fried plantains. It was so good! Everything made so fresh and fantastic! Don’t sleep on this place. It’s a keeper!
Little tip: At first we didnt realize that its separated as a cafe and restaurant. The double doors are for the restaurant entrance for dine in, single door for the cafe if you want something quick.
and salsa is really good too!! They have an outside area for kids and it has a gaga pit to play in. I definitely recommend this restaurant!!!
My husband and I both had the breakfast burrito and absolutely loved it. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully plated (I had to snap a few photos!). The kids enjoyed playing on the outdoor playground while we waited, which made the experience even better for our whole crew.
Everyone in our group left full and raving about how delicious it all was. Between the great food, welcoming vibe, and family-friendly setup, we can’t wait to go back!
So then I went back for dinner in the evening! The blackened fish taco was my favorite, but the birria also did not disappoint. The banana pudding taco was a perfect ending.
