I’ve heard the rave reviews on this place so had to try. Italian beef, of course! I liked the option with the Italian sausage so had to get that. Love the charbroil. Next time I’ll get the hotdog. Oh, the add on hot peppers were well worth it with sauce/gravy on the side. You can get it fully dunked and eat it with a fork.
I’ve heard the hamburgers were good. Crinkle cut French fries were hot and fresh. To die for good, yes!
Do you love chocolate? Then get the chocolate shake and a slice of cake for a Cake Shake! They also have seasonal flavors…
Workers were slacking but they took care of our orders efficiently.
But every single one of our orders was messed up eg. no fries, only ketchup on a loaded hot dog… Maybe we came during a slow point.
Decor was amazingly authentic. Just like an old time diner. I’m ready to go again and try more!

This has got to be the WORST Portillos ever. Trash cans over filled. All of them. No shakes. The fries were not light golden yellow, they were almost brown like the frying oil has not been changed. People were waiting a long time for orders. We asked for cheese sauce, it was listed on the receipt and we got shredded cheese. Hotdogs tasted like hotdog water or location they were being held are not cleaned regularly. Napkin holders were dirty and broken. No straws. Bathrooms filthy. Someone from home office needs to get in there quick and fix this. This is NOT up to Portillo standards. We are used to the good Portillos in Chicago on Archer and the owners would be completely shocked on this location. The manager needs to take a look around, care that they represent a Chicago institution and do a better job. I will be posting photos as we went out of our way to stop here on our way back South after Thanksgiving. Never again. What a waste of my hard earned money and my time.

Really disappointed today, was craving the Chicago style hot dog and it was great! My hubby had the beef Italian sausage combo sandwich and he gave it 5 stars, but those burgers!! One star is too much. The fries were so overcooked and cold.

I ordered two Italian beefs, a beef and cheddar croissant (which unfortunately did not include cheddar at all and they added a pepper that I did not order), two cheese fries both were COLD, and a candy cane shake. The shake was extremely thick and undrinkable as served, and the straw wasn’t provided with my drink, so I had to request one. I also had to go home and add milk and blend the shake to make it remotely possible to drink, which was disappointing. I have visited other Portillo’s locations in Chicago (which were great and very tasty!) without issues, so this was unexpected. On a positive note, the customer service was good—staff quickly and without hesitation addressed my requests, including the missing cheese sauce, and the order was prepared quickly. First time trying the Legendary Portillos. They did not disappoint. I ordered the spicy chicken sandwich and the strawberry lemon shake was on point. My partner loved the Italian beef and sausage and cheese fries. The service was great and the staff were very friendly and patient to someone new. Would highly recommend visiting this location.

I ordered thebeef sandwich inedible bread, completely soggy no sweet peppers at all. This place is a joke and avoid it like it’s the plague. I don’t need a response from the owner as they are clearly not involved in this location. I will just stick to going to Chick-fil-A. I look forward to this location‘s demise. Hot beef and cheese — no veggies, extra gravy — was just perfect, and the jumbo chili dog with onions again didn’t disappoint. Every bite was exactly what you want from classic comfort food. Beyond those favorites, there are so many other delicious options that make it worth multiple visits. The service was excellent too — friendly, helpful, and quick without being rushed. It’s one of those spots that hits all the right notes: tasty food, great portions, and welcoming staff. I’ll be back for sure, and next time I’ll probably try even more menu items. This place has earned a spot on my regular rotation for a satisfying, no-fuss meal.

I placed an order through the kiosk and somehow waited a little over half an hour for my food as I watched my order number disappear from the screen.
I got the hot dog, fries, burger, and chocolate cake. The food was decent for fast food but not sure if it was worth the wait. I did read reviews of how long some people have waited for their orders but didn’t expect it to be that long.
The interior had a nice diner vibe to it and there’s plenty of seating.
