The pub combines several great passions of mine: Detroit Community, Food and Architecture. Fortunately, this combination has allowed us to grow without turning into a corporate machine. We weren’t funded or financed, and we are constantly evolving and learning from our mistakes, but what is most clear, is that we take great pride in our history and we pour much care and love into every glass and dish. If you are looking for a place that has been serving up True Detroit Pride and Grit – you have found it. Thank you for your many years of patronage and your commitment to supporting local business. This was our second visit to Grand Trunk Pub and we love the atmosphere! Great setting, the building has so much character. We visited on a very busy Saturday (right before Christmas) and it was packed, so there was a bit of a wait. But the staff were all hustling and doing their best, and we appreciated that!
The food is delightful, cozy, and comforting. The pretzel bites are such a yummy start. I had the grilled cheese with bacon and the side of tomato bisque, which was so delightful. Definitely will be back again!

Really cool place!! BUT Three stars off for blah food. I recommend drinks only and you’ll have a Grand time.
I ordered short-rib and like I said- it was terrible. Flavorless and almost dry. Where’s the red wine sauce? More like gravy! Said it came with mixed vegetables.. It was just broccoli that was sitting in a lot of water on my plate. Potatoes very bland, I added salt and pepper to everything. Maybe this just isn’t their dish. I don’t know but I do know I won’t come here hungry. The pot roast at Hamlin Pub is better than this
That being said- it is a beautiful building and lovely service and staff. I have no complaints about that. It’s a unique place, they have great drinks. Those two categories got 5 .

Popped in here for a quick bite after touring Christmas lights. Very friendly service. Nice space. Had the fish and chips. Serving portion seemed a bit small. The fish seasoning was ok and was cooked right (not overcooked) but the texture was not beer-batter airy. It was almost like breaded fish. It’s a fun spot right in the middle of everything.

Very cool nostalgic environment in what I believe to be an old trolly station downtown Detroit. The bartender was very helpful with the menu items & with recommendations from their selection of beer on tap; along with the craft cocktails. Highly recommend giving this place a try if your looking for some where cool to go on a random night!

What’s not to like. Building is amazing. I was there for lunch Saturday and ordered off the brunch menu. My companion had the eggs Benedict. Both were great. Usually the potatoes in a meal like this are meh, but these were well seasoned and delicious. Service was good— although it took awhile for our food to come out.

Grand Trunk Pub is a classic spot in downtown Detroit with a lot of character. The building itself is historic, and the high ceilings and old architecture give the place a really cool, vintage vibe. It feels like a mix of a traditional pub and a local Detroit hangout.

Stopped into this cozy little dive bar and had an awesome time. The spinach artichoke dip was surprisingly delicious, and the service was quick and friendly the whole night. Drinks were cheap (only about $8!) and definitely poured on the heavier side. Loved the vibe inside—good music playing and a festive Christmas tree that made the place feel extra welcoming. Perfect spot to relax in downtown Detroit. Definitely coming back!

Cool pub joint in Dowtown Detroit. We stopped in on a chilly day to get a Tequilla Hot Toddy which was absolutely perfect. My partner had a Cadillac margarita which was delcious as well. Definitely a great bar with good energy.

Stopped in for a quick bite and prices were a bit more than I could afford. I settled on the Harvest Orzo. Probably should have noticed bacon was added to request it removed. There were 4 squares of squash, plenty of orzo and a bed of greens. The flavor with squash was great but there weren’t many pieces of it to call that the flavor of the dish. It was more like cheesy orzo. The staff was great. I felt welcomed. I know the food here can be great, this time sorry.
