This BBQ spot delivered a fairly average experience overall. The beef and sandwich were okay, and the combo platter was just alright as well. The meat tasted decent — ranging from okay to good — and it was nicely moist and soft, but it didn’t quite reach that “wow” factor you hope for at a BBQ place. Prices are about what you’d expect for BBQ in the area, and the portion sizes are pretty decent for the cost, which is a plus. The restaurant atmosphere was fine and casual, nothing particularly memorable but comfortable enough for a meal. Overall, a solid option if you’re in the area, though not a standout compared to other BBQ spots.

Its a simple place with simple food done with pride. If you like Maryland style pit beef and bbq this place will set you right. I remember going to the other location was I was much younger but when I found out there was a location a bit closer we made the hour drive for it and it was ever bit as good as I remember. Visiting the area and business and Chas had some good reviews, and I noticed that they were a triple D restaurant visited by Guy Fieri. Usually when I go to those restaurants, they do not disappoint. The beef and the sandwich was smoked and tender to perfection piled high at first I wanted Small sides, but when they showed me the small sides, they were like those little plastic cups that you put ketchup in so I went for the next size up, which of course was too much. They had horseradish horseradish sauce and several types of barbecue sauces that you could try so I took little samples of each one and tried them. The macaroni and cheese was your average macaroni and cheese. Nothing spectacular, but it was tasty and the potato salad as well. Very tasty. Potatoes were cooked perfectly. The sandwich is outstanding and I will definitely come back when I’m in the area and get another sandwich with that beef so good.

We always enjoy Chaps’ pit beef and pit turkey a couple times a year, generally for holidays — including the 4th of July. As usual for the 4th, we ordered several pounds of pit turkey and a pound of pit beef, along with some Old Bay wings.
When I placed the order — Juan (hopefully spelled correctly) took the order and reviewed it along with the total price — asked if I needed rolls, etc. – very friendly and helpful. He said, “Don’t worry — I got you, Boss — I’ll be here when you pick up your order.”
Sure enough, Juan was there, and the food was prepared fresh – not a long wait. Also, Juan and another team member asked if we wanted condiments – what type of sauces, etc. — they saved us the time in getting those and gave us plenty of the requested condiments and sauces for the wings, napkins. Excellent customer service!
The food smelled great, and I brought a cooler to keep it warm for the 35-minute ride home. The food was delicious !!! The wings were not over-seasoned — but just right. The pit turkey was sliced thin and had a wonderful smoked flavor to it. The pit beef was prepared perfectly — and those who ate the beef were very happy. I can say this, the pit turkey was so good, I did not use any sauces — ate it just as it was. We ordered plenty for the next day or so — and the food was as good then as it was when I picked it up.
We were very pleased (again) with the entire Chaps experience. We will be back for sure — Thank you, Juan and Team Chaps!!!

So lucky to have great food so close to home. Have tried so many things here and all of them are delicious and never disappoint! The name sake of the restaurant is obviously a must do. If you have a HUGE appetite get the double meat pit beef. It’s easily like 3 sandwiches worth I was very surprised how good their chicken tenders are. I got the “Shaun” kid meal and it came with 3 tenders and a TON of fries. As an adult I struggled to finish it. The tenders were well seasoned with just enough breading to given them some crispness and they were JUCIY! I also noticed they hand bread them per order which is a huge plus. I will always recommend this place!

I’ve lived in the Baltimore area for many years and never got one of the famous pit beef sandwiches that I’d heard of. The sandwich was as good as advertised. If not better. It tasted like someone had sliced up a perfectly cooked medium steak and made a sandwich out of it. I could taste the well-seasoned sear on the meat, the meat was tender and juicy, and enjoyed every bite.

I ordered the 1/2lb Cheese Burger medium well and have to say hands down it is the best burger I have ever had. Excellent service and friendly atmosphere here in the Aberdeen location. Will be bringing the wife here this weekend. A new personal favorite place to eat.
