Two thumbs down. I hate leaving negative reviews, but this place was awful. It was a 45-minute wait for a cold and lousy burger with an okay smoked sausage sandwich. The burger itself was not fully cooked, so I didn’t eat it. The fries were hot, but not salted.
The service employees call/yell your number once your order is ready, but they were speaking so lowly that I had to walk to the front and ask what order number was previously called. The service, food and atmosphere was all poor. Hopefully whomever reads this will heed my warning and make a different meal selection!

Got a seafood platter and the fish tastes old, the shrimp is like rubber. It looks good, but my daughter said it’s terrible also.

The atmosphere is fine but it’s definitely a local hamburger place. The old tables and benches but thats I love. They haven’t updated it. And who doesn’t love flame sauce??? I bought two bottles to take home to Texas. I love this place, good burger and great flame sauce, same as it always was!!

I ordered my food paid $30 for two burgers fries and two sweet teas. After sitting for 20 minutes waiting on the food I asked the man for my cups to make my drink he said you get your drink when you get your food he was extremely rude so I took my $4 back from the tip jar. The burger was extremely mediocre and the fries the cheese weren’t even melted not worth it at all this is my first and last time at this location. The older short guy with two chins and glasses is extremely rude

I have to assume that a lot of people’s love of Bud’s comes from their nostalgia about going there when they were younger. As someone who didn’t grow up with it… I’m not fond of paying an arm and a leg and waiting upwards of half an hour for a bland, dry, seriously overcooked burger. Their fries didn’t taste like they even had salt on them, but surprisingly their onion rings were spot-on. We had a nice cashier, but not nice enough to negate everything else. Not to mention it’s entirely too hot in there and the tables have the most uncomfortable wooden benches you’ll find outside of a public park. Seeing their openly racist social media posts after I went was truly just the cherry on top. Cannot recommend.

Listen this is absolutely the best hamburger place this side of the Mississippi, I mean you have to go to West to get in and out burger and they are just as good! The key with Buds is the hickory bbq sauce for the burgers and fries. Make sure you get the buds sauce or you will regret it!

UPDATE- Poor customer service from Laura and Laquisha. I used to love this place. But, lately, there’s been an obvious decline in quality and customer service. Last night had me to the point of never wanting to go there again. They messed up my order and instead of acknowledging this, they treated me like a scammer trying to get free food and completely alienated me as a customer. Last night, after getting home, my son started eating his fries and then opened the burger to find that it was incorrect. When I called, Laura acted like it was an inconvenience to fix the correct burger and a new order of fries (since my son wanted to eat them hot with his burger). She almost seemed to be in disbelief that the burger was fixed wrong and didn’t seem to understand why I would want a new order of fries. I go there at least once a week for the same order every time. I’ve never complained about an incorrect order in the past or tried to get free food. In fact, Laura knows me well enough that she barely, if ever needs to ask who I am when I pick up my food. So, why she was in such disbelief at the order being wrong, I don’t know. When I got there, Laquisha (the cook) interrogated me about the half-eaten fries and examined the burger to confirm that it was incorrect. Not once did she acknowledge making the wrong burger. Instead, she treated me like I was some scammer trying to get free $2.95 fries. When I tried to explain that wasn’t the case, my son just started eating them before he opened the burger and I was prepared to pay for the new order of fries, she talked over me and continued to be ugly and act like I was trying to get free food by returning the half-eaten fries. Initially, Laquisha even begrudgingly told me she would make a new burger but wouldn’t make more fries (with a fresh order of fries sitting in front of her on the frier and barely any customers in the place). I explained I called ahead for the fries and again stated that I was fine with paying for them. Ultimately, they did fix a new burger and new order of fries – which they charged me for. At this point, I wasn’t expecting free food, but I was hoping for good customer service. I have friends who do not eat here because of poor customer service and I’ve always defended this place because I’m a very regular customer and, until the last few months, everything was fine. Last night, they completely alienated me as a customer. They never accepted accountability for what they did wrong or the inconvenience of me having to drive back there for the correct order. Honestly, this wouldn’t have been a big deal. I don’t need anyone to apologize over an incorrect burger. BUT, the fact that they instead treated me like a scammer trying to get free food made the lack of apology ever more discerning. What a shame.
Additionally, a few weeks ago, I was told by a new girl that they would not take my phone order because they were only taking orders from people physically present in the restaurant. When I got there, she strongly discouraged me from staying because of how busy they were. I am not going to state her name because when I got there, I could see they were understaffed and she was very new and doing the best she could in a bad situation. I don’t know what’s going on with that place but I’m so disappointed with the service that I don’t know if I’ll ever eat there again.
CHECK THE OTHER REVIEWS. Apparently, it’s been getting worse over the last year or so. I’ve noticed the food declining as well over the last few months- with burgers being overcooked, dry, and salty and fries being cold. And you will note that not once has a representative from the company added anything to address the reviews left by anyone. So, clearly, they don’t care and it looks like there’s no corporate or any other sort of checks and balances. So, no incentive for them to be accountable.

Grew up going to the Calhoun location. It was an institution. Burgers are still great. Fries are still undercooked like it’s the 90’s. No flavor to the fries. Almost taste as if they even have 0 salt on them. I’d maybe go back.
And definitely know what person at the counter you are talking about from other reviews that is rude and makes you feel stupid for not knowing the numbers. Had the exact same experience.
