On a less positive note, I was disappointed when our checks were brought out while I was still enjoying my meal. Although the rest of the table had finished, the restaurant wasn’t particularly busy, so it seemed unnecessary. Despite this minor hiccup, the overall dining experience was enjoyable.
I definitely plan to go back and I think you should give it a try..
My husband and I have visited Mojave Cantina several times before and have generally had a good experience, which is why tonight was so disappointing.
We arrived around 8:30pm on a Sunday (the restaurant is open until 10pm), so it wasn’t even close to closing. I ordered a chicken burrito, which I’ve had there before. What came out was a beef burrito. Our waitress acknowledged the mistake and even told us she had clearly ordered chicken, so the error appeared to come from the kitchen.
About five minutes later, a replacement burrito came out — but it was cold. Not lukewarm… actually cold. After taking one bite it was obvious it hadn’t been properly heated.
To their credit, the waitress spoke with the manager and removed the $16 meal from the bill and gave me a $10 gift card, which I did appreciate. However, I specifically asked that the burrito simply be reheated so I could still eat it, because at that point I was still hungry.
After waiting about 10 minutes, nothing came out. When I flagged the waitress down to ask about it, she told me she never sent it back to the kitchen because the item had been removed from the bill and she assumed I didn’t want it anymore. That assumption was never confirmed with me, even though I had clearly asked for it to be reheated.
The manager did come over and apologize, but when we explained the situation — that someone should have confirmed whether I still wanted the food — she didn’t offer any solution and simply walked away.
So the final result of the evening was:
– Wrong meal served
– Replacement meal served cold
– Request to fix it never sent to the kitchen
– I ultimately left the restaurant hungry and had to stop somewhere else for food afterward
The drinks were good, but my husband described his meal as mediocre at best.
Mistakes happen at restaurants, and most people understand that. The real issue was how the situation was handled after the mistakes occurred. At no point did it feel like anyone was truly focused on making the experience right.
If you’re considering eating here later in the evening, I would honestly think twice. Based on this experience, it felt like the kitchen and staff were simply no longer concerned about getting orders right.
I’d like to believe this was just an off night, but the way it was handled makes that hard to believe. Hopefully the owner or management team sees this feedback and takes steps to ensure other customers don’t leave the restaurant hungry after multiple mistakes.

The veggie fajitas are legit some of the best I’ve had. Perfectly cooked veggies, great seasoning, and actually filling, which is rarer than it should be. Everything came out hot, fresh, and sizzling like fajitas should.
Extra shoutout to our server Nate. On point the whole time. Super friendly, attentive without hovering, and kept the water coming like a pro. That alone earns bonus points.
Easy spot to recommend. I will 100% be back for those fajitas again.
When I got home and opened up the package, the first thing I noticed is that I didn’t get any tortillas. When I opened up the accoutrements for the fajitas, everything was missing (the sour cream, all the toppings that go on the fajitas) except a double portion of white rice, and a small handful of shredded lettuce. When I opened up the bag of corn chips to eat some guacamole, all the chips were crumbled little pieces.
I called the restaurant to tell them that I was missing the tortillas, the sour cream, and all the toppings for the fajitas. I spoke with the manager, who told me that Vera, our order-taker was new, and that she had already left for the day. She told me that nobody had access to her sign in, and it would take her at least an hour to figure out how to get into her sign in, to verify that we actually placed an order. She told me that I could send an email and include pictures and the main manager would figure out what to do. In the meantime, I’m left with eating the meat pieces all by themselves after paying $32 for dinner, and tipping them too!
The tacos Mexicanos were outstanding. Simple, classic, and packed with flavor. Fresh ingredients, great textures, and clearly made with care. Sometimes tacos just hit exactly the way you want them to, and these nailed it.
Another big shoutout to Nate. Friendly, sharp, and totally dialed in. Drinks stayed full, timing was perfect, and the whole experience felt easy and relaxed because of him.
Consistently great food and great service. This place keeps earning repeat visits.
