This Mexican restaurant turned out to be a great find. We stopped by and ordered nachos and tacos, and both dishes were full of flavor. The nachos were generously topped, perfectly balanced, and ideal for sharing. Every bite had a great mix of fresh ingredients, melted cheese, and well-seasoned toppings. The tacos were equally satisfying. They were freshly prepared, served warm, and packed with flavor. The tortillas were soft, the fillings were well seasoned, and everything tasted fresh and authentic. Nothing felt rushed or pre-made, which really made a difference.Overall, the food was flavorful, satisfying, and well prepared. The atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming, making it a great place to enjoy Mexican food. We truly enjoyed our meal and would definitely recommend this spot to anyone looking for fresh, tasty Mexican dishes done right.

We love Oles takeout in the Winter and dining out on the back patio by the river in the Summer. I usually get the Oles Burrito with added sautéed veggies. It is easily two meals and hits the spot every time. My dad loves both the fish and the shrimp ceviche. They have a great variety on the salsa bar and drink menus. Everyone is very friendly. Make sure to take a deep breath and be patient before arriving because they are very busy and have a back up option if you aren’t willing to wait on a Friday or Saturday night. Inside does get loud and is freshly painted and lit so it is very bright and clean.

Decent burrito … tasty but pretty sloppy. Way too much tortilla and not enough filling; I could barely find the chicken. It was alright overall. The churros come as three mini ones. Solid 3 stars, and service was quick. Oh and the chips were excellent tho!

I enjoyed this place. Very sad the quality has gone down. Found a hair in the food- no one in my household has that color of hair!
They didn’t send any salsa with us for the cheese dips and only two tiny bags of chips. The soft shell tacos were old, they were hard and brittle like thin crackers. They snapped when you tried to picked them up. I had black greasy soot on the inside of a taco shell. The only ingredients in my tacos were fresh, nothing from the grill should have came in contact with the tacos. I ordered off the vegetarian menu and chose carefully to ensure nothing had been grilled. Well, it looks like someone made a mistake and scraped whatever it was off. So it left behind the greasy black grainy stuff. The creme sauce looked bizarrely like chunky bleu cheese! It’s never looked like that before. It’s always been the consistency of a thin sour cream. Today it was chunky. I didn’t try any of it to know if it was bad due to the black hair I found in the chunks.
I guess no wonder this place wasn’t packed like normal. We will never go back. I just hate that a once great restaurant with such welcoming personality has turned into slop. $9 for two soft shell tacos that had a sprinkle of lettuce, 6 diced tomato pieces, 3 avocado slices, mystery black grease soot, a black hair and some type of congealed cream sauce that looked like chunks of bleu cheese is just sickening!
Disappointed that $70 was wasted and trashed!!! Will never make that mistake ever again! I’ll go buy a pack of soft shell tacos from the store in the future. At least they will soft and hair free!!!

Went back for the first time after they reopened from the flood. The inside looks festive and cheerful! Service was prompt and friendly. My dinner was tasty, but arrived lukewarm. Hot food should be served hot not lukewarm. I ordered the fried ice-cream and the shell was soggy. Ole’s has been a favorite over the years, but please do better.

Waitress was excellent and the food was great. Chicken Tamales hit the spot. Accommodated our party of 9 no problemo!

Vegetarians beware!! Loved this place until I learned that the vegetarian section of the menu isn’t actually vegetarian.. they use chicken and maybe beef to flavor the rice and refried beans that come with their dishes.. No Bueno Took a while to get someone who spoke english well enough to get a clear answer. I am surprised that they didn’t know better or receive any other similar feedback for as long as they’ve been operating. On a positive note, they were kind and did their best to understand and accommodate, and they were able to serve me a bowl of vegetarian black beans. I do love this place, and if Ole’s is able to better accommodate vegetarians with actual vegetarian rice and beans, I’d be stoked to continue to support them.

I love Ole’s and it’s one of my favorite places to eat in black mountain! Very good prices and the food is great. Lots of options on the menu, and you can’t go wrong with free chips and a salsa bar.
