My mom recently moved to the area and has been wanting to try this place since she always sees the parking lot packed. We decided to come by on a Sunday around 5:30 PM and had a short wait — about 15 minutes — which wasn’t bad at all. They have some cute little benches on the side of the restaurant where you can sit while you wait. After about 15 minutes, we got a text that our table was ready and we were seated at a cozy booth.

Our server, Martin, came by and took our orders. I got two tacos de lengua, one al pastor, and an agua de horchata, while my mom ordered the camarones a la diabla. The food came out really fast, within 7 minutes.

The food itself was pretty good. My tacos could have been a little hotter, but the flavor was still there. My mom’s dish, on the other hand, came out piping hot and was packed with flavor. The french fries were nice and crispy, and the sauce on the shrimp had a serious kick, perfect if you love spicy food!

Service could have been a little more attentive, as we didn’t really see our server again after he took our order. We had to flag down another waitress to get a to-go box and cash out, but it wasn’t a big deal.

Overall, it’s a great little neighborhood spot with a lot of potential. We had a nice time, and I would definitely come back again to try more from the menu!

Food was amazing. My wife got the steak nachos and I got some tacos. I highly recommend getting corn tortilla tacos because they’re bigger than the flour tortillas. Both are good but why not get the most for your money. It does get crowded fast but I didn’t experience any long waits.

The most authentic Mexican food around! The homemade corn tortillas are terrific-fresh, flavorful and soft. The drinks are yummy and pack a potent punch. The atmosphere is vibrant and fun.The place is always adequately staffed with an attentive and friendly waitstaff. The live music on the weekends is a big plus. We have a lot of choices of restaurants but this is always our #1 pick for authentic, delicious and affordable Mexican food!

If we could put more than 5 stars we would! Everything about our experience here was all the stars. The service was incredible, our food came out fast, they weren’t in a rush to get us out of the door, there was live musicians throughout the restaurant, and the food was so delicious! Probably the best chips and salsa we have ever had as well. We will definitely come back!! There just aren’t restaurants like this anymore, so it was very refreshing to come to such a people friendly and professional establishment.

They posted ICE notices about needing a warrant to enter. It made me wonder if we should go in because we’re not Mexican. I order three eggs, sausages, and french toast. My wife order the quesadilla dinner. My eggs were almost undercooked, the sausage was room temperature and probably made that morning. The hash browns were still raw just slightly browned that morning also. How french toast can be cold is amazing. I would have better off eating out of a McDonald’s garbage can. ICE should leave these people alone, but the Hammond, Indiana health department should pull their license. They have no business serving food this bad. If you’re white and you want Mexican food, you should eat at Taco Bell.
