The hot dog is good, as the Italian beef. However, my pregnant wife got the whitefish sandwich. The fish was undercooked, and the lettuce was wilted. This poses health risks, especially in pregnancy, as well as massive questions about quality control, ingredient quality, and other health code questions.

The Joliet Portillos pick-up location is the best! Food quality is superior to other locations. Service is always fast and very courteous. I ordered a dipped Italian beef and it was so tender, juicy, and fresh. Keep up the amazing work!

I hadn’t been back to this Portillo’s in almost 18 months after I had gotten a pepper & egg sandwich that smelled and tasted like someone poured fish oil over it. I only went back because my grandsons school district was having a fundraiser. I did an online order for 5:30pm. I arrived in line at 5:17pm. The two kids they had working the drive-thru lines asked for my name eight different times. No explanation as to the wait. Finally at 6:08pm I received my order. They shorted my order one of the items and by the time I got home the food was cold. I’ll never go to this particular Portillo’s ever again.
I would have given them ZERO stars except one is the least I could rate them.

Drive Thru Order:
Pulled up, our order was promptly taken by the drive thru guy who was welcoming and friendly.
We got our food and parked to eat. We unpacked the bags…which were oddly stapled together. There were no spoons for our Chili and Chicken Noodle soup, 1st . Opened the “Tamale”…the masa, if you want to call it that, was still uncooked and basically corn mush, 2nd . We unwraped the hot dog. Good thing there was 2, because they were like miniture, kids dogs, 3rd .
We really wanted to like this place but it just seemed like there were more cons than pros.
The pro, being the Burger. That was an amazing burger. If we try again, we’ll stick to the burgers!

I recently ordered a Chicken Caesar Salad, and unfortunately, it did not meet my expectations. The lettuce was spoiled, which made the salad unappetizing. Additionally, the egg was only half, leaving the salad feeling incomplete. Overall, the quality was far from what I would expect for a good salad. I hope improvements are made for future orders.”

Upon walking into the location to retrieve my online catering order of a salad and bottle of salad dressing, I noticed the increased staff present for the holidays. Many were huddled, so I thought they might be having a meeting; I didn’t want to interrupt, so I waited. Several staff made eye contact with me, but never spoke, never addressed me in any way, never even asked me if I was being helped, nothing. So I just stood there 8 whole minutes without being addressed by anyone. A Caucasian woman walks in and staff go immediately to speak and help her. I didn’t say anything, I continue waiting. When a second staff member went and addressed the same woman asking to help, that is when I interrupted to voice that I had been waiting all this time and no one had addressed me, but they were tripping over themselves to address other customers. One staff apologized and said he thought I had been helped. Another staff went to get my order and she slid that across the counter to me with an attitude and a “thank you” that I knew she didn’t mean by the rude tone of her delivery. I visit this location often and I have NEVER experienced such rude behavior. Before I received my order and left, a third staff member addressed the same woman to help her! It’s as if I was invisible to them. Very hurtful, very disappointed.

I haven’t been to Portillos in a while and now I remember why!! Not the best salad. They don’t make it like they use to and now hiked prices. Its mainly all lettuce for $12.98???? People go to Culvers if you want a fresh made salad and it cost less than $10.

Between my wife and I we’ve ordered here a few different times. More recently things have been better so I’m giving it a higher star rating but previously they messed up orders. But looking at the most recent experience things all went well . It is really nice that they have a separate pre-order line to go through the process quickly..
To note Google does not allow me to specify that this is a drive-thru only location so please make sure you understand there’s no parking to go in and sit down and eat a meal. There is plenty of parking in the same complex that other businesses are in.

Very upset with this location. We eat here all the time and the worker at the drive through messed up our whole order. Ordered Chicago dog meal with everything on it and a tender meal. The guy in the drive through rushed us to order and messed up the tender meal and the Chicago dog meal. $33 for a messed up meal. On top of that they didn’t even give me my receipt to make it right.

My bf & I ordered a lot of food today at Portillo’s – Bacon burger, Fries, Chicken tenders, Italian beef, hot dog & a chocolate cake slice w/ a Vanilla Shake & Root Beer. The cashier guy and window lady were super friendly and helped us with our order quickly. I would definitely go back and visit again! :))
