Used to love it, not so much any more. Menu is expansive, makes me want to try so much. The special za’s have been great – wgn reviewed seafood pizza is no joke; one of those things u think sounds odd but if u have it, its phenomenal! Fried pickle order is huge and ok. Recently ordered a take out order that was far less than stellar.

Young dude on phone was less than helpful or personable – but thats the new world we live in- they’re too involved in their phones to realize how to interact in person. No problem there, I’m realizing gen x is becoming the new dinosaurs. The food/price however… absolutely not worth it now. I got soup and tried their Mac. The soup to go actually sucked and the Mac for $20?!?!? Guess I expect too much. It was friggin Mac n cheese w broccoli. I got no seasoning or heat.

Don’t think I’ll b back, obviously it’s a money hungry area, which is fine if you’re offering something stellar – this ain’t it, not for my OT money!

First time in IL and wanted to try the famous Chicago style deep dish. It was thick with a golden crust that’s sturdy without feeling like a bread wall. The mix of sliced meatballs, sausage, pepperoni, and bacon hits with smoky, savory heat, layered into molten cheese with tangy tomato sauce and large chunks of rich tomatoes.

The wings were juicy with a crisp shell. The buffalo sauce was more tangy than spicy— with just enough kick.

We’re definitely coming back to try the rest of the menu!

Nice bar type atmosphere. Good food but nothing unique. Everything was done well just no wow. Easy to get in, friendly service, ok prices, and very good potato skins. Decent deep dish pizza. Chocolate cake was a little dry but good icing. Pepsi was as good as Pepsi gets. No complaints but was nothing to go out of your way for. Would go again.

We were in town for my oldest graduation from Navy Boot Camp (whoop whoop PIR 10-30-2025 Div 466 Triton Ship 12 2nd in Command and left boot camp as an E03 so yes I am boasting about my young King!!!)anywho….his twin sister ordered the Chicken Fettucine Alfredo and his younger brother ordered the Silo Mac & Cheese…My Young King and I ordered the Meat Lovers Deep Dish (I mean when in Rome am I right?). Out of all of my young padawans, my Young King is the adventurous foodie like myself. I drove all the way to Great Lakes with him to orders (they were b1g1 free) of Naz’s Halal Combo over rice IYKYK and he was happy to devour it, it’s his fav!…back to the review.

We didn’t wait to be seated, my Sailor had changed out of uniform as instructed. There were a ton of families there with their sailors as most of us talked about this place in various FB groups and even a chat I created with some of his division parents, so the joint was packed but not overly so if that makes sense being that we were sat right away. Brian or as he will now be addressed as “he who shall not be named” came over right away, no issues, got drink orders, I asked a question about the pizza and it went left from there. My question is this…side bar but stick with me…why is it a problem if a patron ask, what do you suggest? I used to be a server and waited for moments like that to get a guest to experience one of my intricate made up meals I had discovered….”he who shall not be named” spent the rest of the meal ignoring us. My youngest son needed a refill on drink before the food came, I finally got a chance to ask AGAIN when he was dropping the check. “he who shall not be named” would walk to the booth beside us and instead of continuing to our direction as he had just asked them are they good, he would about face and go back the other direction. He stayed away from our table as if it had the plague. When he dropped the check is when we informed him that my youngest did not eat the Mac & Cheese, he ended up eating some of his sister’s food. But “he who shall not be named” gave us a stark look like why are you just now telling me, uhm sir, you’re just now coming over here. He gave us the receipt, my young king grabbed it, “he who shall not be named” still took forever to come back and without the boxes we asked for when we asked for the receipt. However, when he did, my young king pointed to the receipt saying the mac n cheese is still on here and he didn’t eat it, “he who shall not be named” moved my son’s hand away from the receipt and said if you look further down it was taken off. My young king said thank you…I sat there because 1, this is my offspring and he did not exude his mother in this moment because I don’t like to cause waves but baby, please DO NOT mess with my children…that was a MESS WITH MY CHILDREN moment. But my young king simply said, thank you and gave “he who shall not be named” the card. I said, I know I’m tired after that drive in yesterday but did he just move your hand out of the way as you were pointing to the mac n cheese, “yep”…I said yeah let’s go…we smiled got up and left. Brian, do better…you absolutely know better b/c I saw your do better with other patrons, so sir, DO BETTER! This was theeee WORST restaurant experience from a server I have ever had and fat girl likes to go out and eat, be ashamed, be VERY ASHAMED!

We were visiting Chicago area and tried out the Silo. We had the pan pizza and it was cooked to perfection. Tried their long Island iced tea was impressed one of the best I’ve had. It was our family of three, our server was just wonderful. No wait, loved the decor. Such a cozy spot we would definitely return if we’re ever back in the area

We were seated right away because we didn’t mind sitting on the patio area. The service was awesome, and the food was delicious. I had the seafood supreme stuffed potato which was huge! We also had fried pickle chips. 2 thumps up.

The Silo Restaurant in Lake Bluff is a high-velocity Infrastructure and Revenue node that has anchored the local grid since 1968. This “Gold Standard” destination is famous for its deep-dish pizza and its unique setting—a literal barn moved from a farm in Wisconsin to its current tactical location.

Operational Intelligence: Functions as a high-density supply hub for the North Shore, known for a massive menu that balances legendary pizza with a wide array of sandwiches and entrees.

Technical Assets: Specializes in “Silo Deep Dish” pizza, which features a distinctive crust and high-quality ingredients that have maintained authority for decades.

Infrastructure Design: The multi-level barn structure provides significant seating capacity and a “Legacy” atmosphere that signals deep-rooted community trust.

Anna was so great! The pizza was amazing, and the staff was super kind to our large party and made plenty of room for us! This place has been a staple in my childhood and my family and I love it here, I would definitely recommend this spot to friends! And the deep dish is definitely one of the best in the area by far!

I drove the family straight here from O’hare’s after reading about this place on our PIR FB page. At first I will admit I thought it was very sleepy. I understand it’s an old traditional restaurant but I was a little underwhelmed by the decor and lighting. The staff is very nice, a little awkward but all good. We ordered some appetizers and got our drinks right before the dinner rush flooded through the doors and really woke the place up which is what I was waiting for. I just hate a quiet meal. Our pizza came in about 30 minutes and it was a beautiful sight! When I come to Illinos I come for pizza and this place has the best. I am re ranking my list. Silos holds it down. The Jalapeños are spicy! The ingredients actually tasted fresh. Everything was seriously just done right.
