I had the pasta and salad. I love the option… honestly was more than I could eat and I saved room for desserts since it was a special occasion… everything was perfect
To summarize my opinions:
1) The food being provided via the take out service is not consistent or frequently is missing items. Portion sizes differ on each visit making me usually regret a purchase for the money spent on the amount of food received. Advertised gelato, complimentary bread, or other side dishes may not be included. I have learned to not wait in my car and to go inside as to check the food provided and ask for what missing in the spot. Not an exaggeration, 9 times out of 10, something is missing, and not always in control of the server but the actual meal itself. There were also times where I could tell the kitchen didn’t have the full ingredient list for my meal and just provided something unrelated or just lacking in general.
2) After arriving, waiting on service is a coin flip that does not correlate to peak service. Management does not seem to have an available body to at least 50/50 cover the to go service, I would never assume the fault of the server for this. Be prepared to wait for service even if you order online and show up at or later than the estimated time. I have waited over 30 min to see a human being after using their Ring reminder and calling the front desk as my stand out worst example after showing up 10 min late for my meal. I could not stick around to complain due to my lunch already having ended and needing to return to work.
Over the years, I have seen attempts to address both issues. A white board had a reminder for employees to not forget gelato or bread. The ring camera in general to alert staff someone is waiting. For a period of time, there was a half hearted attempt to attach a quality review sheet to your bag with ‘management’ signing off that your meal was up to standards. I am still leaving this review today.
How much money do you have to spend at a quality restaurant before issues like these shouldn’t exist? At a minimum, a standardized meal should be provided even if I wasn’t sitting at a table inside right? I ask myself this as I cold turkey decide to not return for the foreseeable future.
We dined as a group of nine and found most of the entrées to be just okay. The atmosphere also didn’t match a high-quality dinner experience — the bright lighting in that large space felt more like a cafeteria than a restaurant. Would suggest dimming the lights for dinner service as an easy improvement.
Great service, but the food and ambiance could use improvement.
