Amazing waterside restaurant in old downtown Clermont. Perfect place to eat out when the weather is nice. I had grilled chicken with the coconut rum sauce on some rice with veggies, and it was perfect. Even though we were out on the beach and it was a busy day (great weather and everyone else seemed to have the same idea), servers checked in on us frequently but not intrusively so. The deck has space heaters, but one minor negative is that they are apparently either ALL ON or ALL OFF. Beachside deck tables get a strong breezeway and can use the heaters, but just around the corner where there is little wind, the heater can make things awkwardly warm even outside when it’s otherwise cool. (The servers were kind enough to move us to a better spot when one was free.) Also, while the iced tea is great, getting it to go isn’t practical: drinks are served in plastic cups, but there are no lids. Those were just small things, though compared to the overall experience. Very fun atmosphere, plenty of parking (and several fun shops) nearby, good variety in seating options, and great view of the lake. We look forward to stopping by to enjoy this place again, next time we are in the area.

Grouper fish tacos with yuca fries: yummy – nice big chunks of seared grouper with jicama slaw – nice flavour combos and interesting textures.
My wife enjoyed the shrimp burger; tender & moist
Key lime pie: nice & tart with a firm graham cracker crust
Rum cake: just enough rum to taste it, especially on the first bite. Crispy on the outside and not too dense.
Wait staff were helpful and knowledgeable

We were in Clermont for a wedding. We had a group of 11 and Our waitress Aaliyah was phenomenal. She got all of our orders correct the first time, anything we asked for she brought out right away. Came back after we paid the bill to take a family photo by the lake for us. The food and service was awesome would definitely come back if we ever return to Clermont Florida.

Definitely a cool place to eat & relax with a awesome scenery. They have a nice Caribbean vibe & excellent service, very friendly & professional. Our server knew the menu like the back of his hand all while training somebody else.

Its was good! Upon entering staff was friendly and hustling. All appeared to be well trained. Hats off to the management team.
Our waiter was attentive and hustling. My wife and her friend said he wasnt friendly and I said hes got several tables to tend and providing expedient service. Women are emotional and need that special touch, maybe like a big smile or a witty observation, idk.
I gave a 15% tip but now im thinking about it I should’ve gave him more. Maybe that negative connontation affected my tipping.
I digress. The food was aight. My second time here so I knew what i liked. I got the tuna tartar, which is banging! For my entrée I just got a conch soup and yuka fries. Too liquidy, needed thickening. Yuka fries portion was too small. Gator bites small portion and too salty. Everyone like their entrees. Fish tacos, fish sandwich, kids shrimp, kids chicken. Fries were good.
Ambiance great, etc.

I drive 45 minutes almost every weekend just to come here — says it all.
Right by the river in Clermont, it feels like a little beach getaway. Amazing vibes, good music, breeze in your hair, and sunsets that make you forget you’re in Orlando.
The food? Delicious and satisfying. But the real magic is the whole experience: the view, the atmosphere, the music… everything just clicks.
Cute, tasty, chill, happy vibes. Not just a meal, an experience. Always worth the drive. ✨

The Salt Shack is a great place to eat whether you are eating inside, on the deck or on the beach. Beautiful views of the lake come with the delicious food and drinks. The wings with jerk sauce are a hit and never disappoint. The fish is fresh and the crab cakes are loaded with crab meat. The chicken tacos are also great. You can’t go wrong here.

Our first visit to the Salt Shack following a family recommendation.
It was a Sunday lunchtime so was very busy but they found a high top table for us on the veranda. Great view of the Lake – just a shame we had very loud people at the bar right next to us.
Our server was great, helped with recommendations and was really friendly. Although the cocktails looked great we just ordered soda and a portion of calamari between us to start. Calamari was great – ice and crisp on the outside and soft and tasty inside.
For our main course we shared a crab cake burger and the fish tacos as we couldn’t decide! Both were absolutely delicious and difficult to choose a winner. Try both like we did.
Lovely place with great service and food. What a way to spend a Sunday afternoon

Food was delicious. Sitting by the water was super fun and cooling. Husband had snapper, I had snapper bites (yum), my uncle had the fish sandwich. As appetizer we have alligator bites. Delicious! Absolutely will return!
