We stopped at Lum’s BBQ in Junction, TX during our drive on I-10, and wow — this place is a gem. The brisket was out of this world, perfectly smoked and incredibly tender. The turkey was super moist, which is hard to find, and every side tasted fresh and homemade.
The restaurant itself is spotless and well-kept — truly impeccable. The ambiance felt a little cold and not the warmest in terms of friendliness, but the food more than makes up for it.
If you’re traveling toward Austin or San Antonio from West Texas, this is THE place to stop for real Texas BBQ. Absolutely worth the detour and every single bite!

I stopped in Junction, TX for a football game and needed a good place to eat — and I definitely found it at Lum’s BBQ! As soon as I walked in, the smoky aroma told me I made the right choice. The counter setup made ordering super easy since I could see all their delicious options right in front of me.
If you’re just looking for a solid meal, grab a sandwich. But if you’re up for a personal challenge, go for a plate! I ordered the 2-meat plate with sliced brisket and jalapeño & cheese sausage, plus potato salad and mac n’ cheese. Let’s just say I almost met my match, but pride wouldn’t let me leave a single bite behind.
They’ve got a nice outdoor patio, plenty of indoor seating, and even some cool merch for sale. Great food, great atmosphere — I’ll definitely be back next time I’m in town!

No bbq like TEXAS bbq! Soft, luscious meats, fall off the bone, ribs, tender green beans with lots of pepper that are not mush, savory brisket, plenty of jalapeños, and onions! Great halfway point between wtx and Austin, I always stop for some Delicious food at Lums!!

Really had high hopes since it kept popping up when searching best bbq on I10 from Fl to NM. Was a let down. Brisket was very dry and bark tasted a little burnt. Staff were great and enjoyed the place, sides were good. Turkey was great. Just disappointed with the brisket

if you’re ever in Junction, TX or passing through and you see @lumsbbq it is important you stop and go get a meal. The 2 meat plate was way bigger portions and a higher caliber of bbq than I have had in a long time. Was driving my grandparents and mom back to Menard from San Antonio and mom said she ate there in the 70’s!!!! There’s a reason it’s still there.

My new go-to BBQ place when driving through town. The sides were awesome as well as the marbled Brisket and the pork Ribs. All the meats are cut to order! Thanks for the friendly service!

The food was so delicious. My husband and I got the 2 meat plates each. We both loved the brisket, pork ribs and mac and cheese. The meat was so juicy and tender. Well worth it being $27 each.

I had the pleasure of stopping by Lum’s BBQ, and I can honestly say this spot lives up to its legacy. The plate I ordered came stacked with ribs, sausage, mac and cheese, and potato salad—all served up with that no-frills, classic Texas presentation.
The ribs had a fantastic bark and rich smoky flavor. While the beef was a bit on the dry side, I’m not necessarily counting that as a negative—it could very well be due to the specific cut or the style they’re aiming for. As any BBQ lover knows, there are a lot of variables in the smoking process, and I respect that.
Now, let’s talk sides—the macaroni was absolutely delicious. Creamy, well-seasoned, and comfort-food perfect. The potato salad also hit the mark—balanced, flavorful, and a great complement to the meats.
You can feel the tradition and pride in this place. Family-owned since 1976, and you can taste the experience. I’ll definitely be back.

Hubby and I just stoped at Lum’s on our travels back home. A long time ago Cooper’s was our go to in the Junction area. After reading a lot of “not great” reviews about Cooper’s we decided to give Lyn’s a try. I’m so glad we did! The brisket was tender and delicious and seasoned well. The sausage was tasty too. They gave us huge portions of food! Normally at a bbq place you don’t get that much and it’s super expensive. This place is very reasonably priced. And I almost forgot to mention the sauce!! So so good!
I got the two meat plate. It comes with 2 sides. The mac and cheese was homemade and the potato salad was as good as mine . You can see in the pics how much food it was. My husband got a two meat sandwich with brisket and sausage. It also came with a side.
