Shortly after arriving in the US, I was looking for a ramen shop. I ate at Chopin Ramen nearby, and this steaming bowl of beef ramen instantly relieved my traveler’s nausea. The broth was clear and slightly spicy, and the noodles were chewy and satisfying. However, the beef was a bit tough and cut into large chunks. The taste was similar to what I’d like back home, and even kids could eat it. The flavor was on the milder side. The environment was typical of fast food restaurants, next to a Great Wall Supermarket. There was a small food court with about five or six shops, including steamed bun shops, roast meat shops, and sauerkraut fish shops. For Chinese people newly arrived in the US, it’s worth a try. But if it’s too far, it’s not worth the trip.

The food was good. They make handmade fresh noodles right infront of you. The flavors are very subtle and fresh. We ordered chicken noodle soup amd dumpling sour soup. Both were very good.

This Chinese noodle house in the food court of Great Wall Supermarket is a must-visit. Once you decide on your dish, you can choose your noodle type, and your meal is prepared in just a few minutes. I had the Lanzhou Beef Noodle Soup, which was excellent—packed with generous slices of beef. The hand-pulled noodles had the perfect chewiness and were not too soft, and the soup base included radish slices that added a fantastic touch. The soup’s flavor was outstanding, and the portion size was more than reasonable for the price. I can’t wait to return and explore more of the noodle dishes on the menu!

Most authentic Chinese food I’ve ever had in America! The hand pulled noodles are to die for, the flavors are out of this world! I love watching the noodles being made in front of my eyes.
Great service, great food!

One of the best authentic Chinese noodles dishes you can get in the DMV. Super flavorful and I would definitely come back again.

It is inside the Great Wall Market, left entrance. You can choose your own noodles, can’t choose the spicy level though. You can ask for more chili sauce, but it doesn’t taste spicy.
I got the traditional beef (non-spicy one), intestine noodle soup, chili and scallions with noodle.
Service is great! Food needs more flavor.
There are tables everywhere, so people self serve.

This place is at the very end corner of the attached food court to the big Great Wall Asian grocery store. There are a lot of places inside this food court but you cannot miss this as its line was longer than the rest of the other places combined. We were just randomly browsing what to eat and the line convinced us that it’d be good. We went for spicy beef noodle soup and intestine noodle soup not expecting too much. However, this place is fantastic! There’s usually a good explanation when you see a bunch of Asians lining up.

I’ve complained about another Chinese establishment called ‘Y Noodle’ for being too oily while still tasting amazing. Chopin noodles are perfectly balanced – there aren’t a lot of oils. It’s also not light because you can taste all the right flavors in the right amount. You can drink it all up and still not feel all those oils. That’s a perfect bowl of noodles in my opinion. I’d come back.

The only thing I have to complain about is that the tray they gave our bowls on was nasty! It didn’t look like they cleaned it at all. I’m hoping it was an oversight and not how they usually prepare their food. If I keep seeing this from this restaurant, I will update my review.

After I left the place, I realized this is another branch of a hand-pulled noodle place in Rockville that I’ve been seeing in reels! I believe the original place is also called Chopin. I haven’t made it that far because I love 495 so much. I randomly walked into their branch. Why, yes!

Lanzhou beef noodle soup was excellent. I love both the spicy and the regular. Noodles are delicious and look handmade. Broth is flavorful and delicious. Love the chili oil as well.

In 2008, we went to the United States. This is the most authentic ramen I have eaten in the United States. It’s a pity that I forgot to take pictures, but I will definitely come back. The portion is very large and the price is very affordable. I have tried all the noodle shops nearby. This one is really dedicated to making its own things. I highly recommend it to try. The attitude of the lady at the front desk is also very good and very polite. She speaks softly. If you don’t eat good ramen here, you can scold me. If it’s not authentic, you can also scold me. After eating, you can also shop. It’s a very good place. I will try again and take the following photos. It’s a pity that I didn’t take them this time.

Located in the food court section of 99, this noodle spot is pretty good.
The prices are slightly high but noodles are cooked well and taste homemade and soup is flavorful. You also have the option of six different types of noodles to choose from. We went on a weekday night which was fairly empty and food was ready under 10 minutes. Note – during the winter, doesn’t seem like the heat is on so it is quite chilly.
