Snug Mexican cafe known for its breakfast burritos & green chile that are not for the faint-hearted.

Small Mexican restaurant with great burritos. They open at 6 am for breakfast and are immediately very busy. The breakfast plate with eggs, potatoes and choice of meat is very good. I like the sausage. It’s a lot of food at a reasonable price. The burritos come with one of three levels of salsa – hot, mild ot half and half. It should be noted that hot means exactly that.
Service is very fast, polite and efficient. They work hard and move a lot of customers through rapidly. There is no seating; it’s take-out only.
The parking lot is small and often full, but people are coming in or out all the time. It’s necessary to be careful.

Came in for a handheld chicken and rice burrito. This is the sloppiest hand held I’ve ever had. It was double wrapped in foil because it was so messy. The burrito wasn’t even wrapped all the way. All the chile and cheese was oozing out. The foil was smashed into the ends of the burrito. Could even eat the ends without possibly taking a bite of foil. Chile dripping everywhere as I ate it. I didn’t ask for extra chile or I would of just got it smothered. Whoever was making burritos today 11/15/2025 at 1:20pm needs to be on the register. ♂️

I love this place, but I have a couple of issues with it. The first one is that I order take out from here quite a bit. I do this online, and unless it’s a breakfast burrito, the food is NEVER ready when I get there. The last time I ordered from there on 1/20/26, I went 15 minutes after my order was supposed to be ready, and they did not start making it until after I arrived. This happens every time I place an online order. The reason it is annoying is because if that was the case, I could just order my food when I get there. The whole point of placing an online order and picking it up at the time they say it will be ready is the convenience of just walking in and grabbing an order you’ve already paid for. No one wants to wait for their food to be made when they placed the order 20 minutes prior.
My second issue, and I realize this may be an unpopular opinion and hurt some feelings – – for that I apologize, but their salsa tastes like pizza sauce. They put entirely too much oregano. A place like this who has excellent green chile, should also have a killer salsa in my opinion. The oregano does not make for a killer salsa so I freeze it instead, and when I have enough, I use it to make pizza!

Great 1st experience overall. The portions, quality and flavor completely satisfied. Tried the carnitas, barbacoa with red sauce and flautas and impressed with the sides, dips and sauces as well. Would recommend.

Just had these breakfast burritos for the first time this morning. They are amazing!! I wish I had a picture to share, but I was too busy eating. This place is super fast making their burritos and the price is absolutely fair for the fantastic food you receive. Nothing else to say but, “Go try it out!”

Mid morning Saturday, very busy. Small location, limited parking. Staff was very good, very efficient and fast. Food is always good and pricing is excellent! Short wait time for as busy as they were. (4 burritos, waited less than 5 minutes). I’m impressed!

The breakfast burrito was super dry. They seem to be very busy all the time, usually that doesn’t make a difference in the service. Sometimes they get a little too busy for good customer service but most of the time they are super nice and the food is super good. This day they were off their game. The breakfast burrito was terrible, dry and flavorless and staff was short and a tad rude.

My favorite quick breakfast restaurant I’m always in and out in under 5 minutes and the food is so delicious. I’m vegetarian too and they’re always very accommodating. 10/10 would recommend

2023 Visit:
Probably nearly a year after last visit and still give their food 5-⭐.
What changed?
No more dine-in area, although they do have this small patio.
It’s more a walk-in/walk-through (as opposed to drive-through) order/pick-up style now.
Though this branch is far from where we live, we’ve always enjoyed dining here.
Now, it’ll take a minimum of 30 minutes to drive back home and enjoy the food, thus the 4-⭐.

1st time visit. Good-sized servings.Had the Carne Asada, good but chili sauce served on the side in a small bowl. Would have it smothered next time. Hubby had the Tamale Dinner and gave it thumbs up. Got 6 tamales and green chili “to go” and regret not getting more. Wanted to try their breakfast burrito but at early p.m., they were already out. Location is nondescript and would have missed it had we not seen it weekend past. Parking is lacking vs customers getting to go and diners. Dining area is not enough and the time we were there, it was packed. Overall, really great food for the price. Service is excellent, an older lady who I believe is the matriarch/owner is hands-on and very solicitous of all customers. Gave it 4 stars only for the wait for a table to free up. Will bring our Igloo/ice cooler next time and get more variety to go. A must-try!
Update : July 2017
Dropped by for take-out of their delicious tamales (beef), green chili and breakfast burrito which we missed out on when we last dined here. Unfortunately, learnt we were again out of luck with the burrito as was informed it’s only available until 11am. We got the tamales and this time we got a dozen to-go. Really good!
