If you find yourself in Helen, GA and don’t stop at Muller’s Famous Fried Cheese Cafe, you’re making a serious mistake. This place is an absolute treasure!
Let me start with the **Bratwurst Hoagies** – these are not your average sausage sandwiches. The brats are perfectly cooked with that ideal snap when you bite into them, nestled in fresh hoagie rolls. Paired with their crispy French fries, it’s the kind of authentic German comfort food that hits every single note. You can taste the quality in every bite, and the portions are generous without being overwhelming.
But here’s where things get really wild – the **Signature Fried Cheesecake with Caramel Sauce**. I’m not exaggerating when I say this might be one of the best desserts I’ve ever had. They take creamy cheesecake, wrap it in a crispy, golden fried coating that shatters perfectly when you cut into it, then drizzle it with rich caramel sauce and top it with fresh whipped cream. The contrast between the hot, crunchy exterior and the cool, silky cheesecake inside is absolutely mind-blowing. It’s decadent, it’s indulgent, and it’s worth every single calorie.
The atmosphere is warm and inviting with that authentic German charm Helen is known for. The service was great, and the prices are incredibly reasonable for the quality and portion sizes you get.
Don’t walk to Muller’s – RUN. This place is a must-visit!
My husband wanted to ordered something authentic yet healthy, therefore, went for the Grilled Bratwurst Platter which he enjoys very much!
The combination of the bratwurst, the sauerkraut and the mustard all together made the taste perfect, even for someone like me who absolutely do not like the mustard!
I ordered the House Grilled Chicken Salad but asked for the Honey Mustard dressing instead of my usual Ranch dressing to give it a try. It is very different than the American Honey Mustard dressing with a much stronger Mustard taste, however, was very tasty with the salad!
Overall was a great meal and experience! The waiter is fast and friendly. With the enclosed outdoor seating, we really enjoyed the place!
The food was a mixed bag. My son got the Alpine french toast. It looked like regular bread and about three pieces were burnt, but it was good. He got a bratwurst on the side. I had got one too. How can I describe it? It was vinegary. It had a weird aftertaste. I’ve had bratwurst before and I don’t remember it tasting like that.
I got a fried cheese plate which was good. I got mozzarella. It was great, but I ate it with other food because it was a little intense on its own. Eggs and potatoes were good and perfectly seasoned!
My husband had the egg, bacon, and cheese biscuit. It was good, but was falling apart. Overall, it was good and we would try it again.
