Visiting Asheville area for the first time wanted somewhere near our Airbnb to eat before calling it a night. We ordered the Philly, Tiger wings, and sweet potato fries. The Philly was bland even with the au ju dip. The sweet potato fries were so good! The tiger wings did not disappoint!! They were so good! Absolutely recommend the wings and sweet potatoes fries together.
Overall we will be back! It did take over 45 minutes to get our meal. Just a heads up if you are really hungry.

If you’re looking for some true southern cooking and great service with great people then please look no further. Might be much for some but I’m not some so I got their amazing New Years special which the chef was preparing fresh. Hog jaw, ham, black eyed peas, potatoes, collard, greens, cown bread and more for $20 give or take a buck! Daughter had an incredible pasta and sauce kids meal that was enough for a few and we all left happy campers!

East Village Grille . Heard about this place from some locals and I was hyped about going. I will say this, it was my first and last time going. I ordered the Tiger shrimp and the tiger wings. My shrimp were slightly cold and the tiger sauce I definitely did not like. So so atmosphere and customer service is mediocre. After the server asked me how was my food and I told him I didn’t care for the sauce he never came back to my table until it was time to take my plate which still had food. East Village Grille I give 3 ⭐️.

Solid restaurant with good, tasty, well-made, comfort food. We had a very attentive server who thought ahead about our needs. We were a group of 6 and all feel cared for. The food was quick and fresh. If you want a medium well burger though, order it medium.

This is probably one of the best places I’ve ever eaten at. The tiger seasoning and sauce they make is great on everything. You have got to try the crickets. We got there around 4 but by the time we were leaving they already had a wait to get a seat. And i see why. Everyone was super nice. Comfortable atmosphere. And can’t say enough how amazing the food was

We had a fabulous late-lunch at EVG today. My husband had the Chicken Caprese Sandwich which was very savory and rich tadtung, and I had the “New Southern Fried Chicken Samich Sandwich” which was really fantastic! The chicken was fried crispy, with a super tasty breading but was juicy inside. It was topped with bacon and home-made pimento and cheese which gave it a soft, creamy element against the crunchiness of the chicken. With sweet bbq sauce for dipping, it was really awesome! We will most definitely be back!

Did a Friday evening to-go order for the famous tiger wings and they did not disappoint! Well cooked with a flavorful sauce that perfectly complemented the chicken. The server who took my order over the phone was also very nice.
Only complaint is the 45 min wait time, and the lack of organization inside when you go to pick-up. But they are busy for a good reason!

Place is a bit overrated. Chicken fingers were dry, fries were lukewarm. Cole slaw was fine. Charge was wrong on receipt (15 for chicken fingers and dipping sauce, when menu says 14 for chicken fingers and dipping sauce) and when asked about it, the server said that’s the way it rings up in the system, despite the menu price being different. It was just a dollar so didn’t care to push it, but annoying still. The burgers looked good and I’ll get that if there is a next time.

My husband and I were staying in the area and found this restaurant when searching nearby restaurants on Google Maps. EVG was amazing. The staff was friendly and attentive. The prices were affordable. The food was delicious. My hubby got the burger and steak fries. I got the chicken strips tossed in their special Tiger sauce. Yum! I also got the steak fries and a side Caesar salad, which was delicious. If we’re ever in Asheville again, we will definitely return.
