It’s rare to come across someone who takes so much pride in their work and makes guests feel so welcomed and valued. Vanessa’s kindness and work ethic did not go unnoticed!
We will absolutely be coming back again, and honestly, a big reason for that is the outstanding service provided!
Ultimately she did take the meal off the bill, we took the food in which my father in law didn’t even want it so it was wasted. They gave an extra side that was still all oil/butter.
The veal Marsala/Marsala is the only reason we go there and deemed today the last time.
Our server, Bobbi, introduced herself as she dropped off our water and mentioned she needed to finish helping another table before returning. When she came back, she actually reintroduced herself and apologized, realizing she had already done so. You could tell she may have had a lot on her mind that day.
She took our drink and food orders. It took a while for the drinks to arrive. I ordered the spirit-free lemonade spritzer promotional drink, which was $9 from the bar. Unfortunately, it tasted like regular lemonade with a basil leaf in it. I would honestly recommend saving your money and ordering the regular lemonade, which is about $5 less.
When our food came out, it arrived before our soup, which confused us since the soup was supposed to be part of the meal before the entrée. The person who brought out the food wasn’t sure what happened and said he would get a manager, but instead Bobbi returned to the table and apologized because she had to take an emergency. Which she said could be due to the mixup. She mentioned the soup was part of the meal and asked if we wanted the soups now or packaged to go. Since we were ready to eat our entrées, we asked for them to be packed to go. She later brought them to the table already packaged.
After we finished our meal, she brought the check. We still tipped 15% because we understand the service industry and try to be fair. However, this felt like a situation where some type of service recovery should have been offered, or at the very least a manager stopping by the table to check on the experience.
Overall, the food was fine, but the service and lack of follow-up made the visit feel a bit off. I’m hoping this was just an off night because we do enjoy dining here.
You can tell the team respects her leadership, and it reflects in the quality of service. The entire visit felt seamless and elevated because of her. Christine is a true asset to this restaurant, and we’ll definitely be back. My name is King by the way. Thank you so much for making our outing worth every penny and minute.
