If you go here you must get the BRISKET BACON. Rivals any brisket I’ve had in Texas or Missouri. Simply scrumptious and amazing.
Waiter was really good and the lady manager with pigtails was terrific, going around to all tables and making sure all diners were content. Asked her how the brisket bacon was made and she went into detail like she was a judge on Top Chef. Really great experience all around. All staff were kind and courteous and even gave out small canned water during the short wait to get seated.
The bathroom sinks were also cool – hot/cold water levers setup like you were opening water valve shutoffs in a house .
A+++
From 1 (worse) to 10 (best):
Brisket – 6
Cafecito Ribs – 8
Cornbread – 7
Coleslaw – 9
Loaded Mac & cheese – 9
Pulled pork – 6
Their food is so good it should be illegal.
For me, the Best BBQ in town. They put Miami in the map for great BBQ up to par with Texas, Tennessee, and St. Louis.
Do not skip the “skull” corn bread. Everything in the menu is of great quality, superb, savory, and perfectly cooked. The wings with the oro negro sauce are excellent. Not too sweet, tangy and delicious. It is a masterful coffee-infused barbecue sauce that caramelizes the meat.
Burgers on brioche bread are juicy, and extraordinary. Brisket, pulled pork, and ribs are to die for. Sides like the Mac and Cheese and baked beans so tasty.
Good selection of craft beers and cocktails. Free beer while you wait.
We waited 45 minutes to be seated and this was a Wednesday night. That shows you how popular this place is and it worth every minute of the wait.
Keep in mind that you can join in the waiting list online before your arrival.
Amicable, attentive service. I highly recommend this place.
They have a great thing going on there. Keep it up!
We waited about five minutes for a table, which was totally reasonable, and we were taken care of by Christian, who was an excellent server. His recommendations were absolutely on point.
We started with the variety empanadas, and they were amazing—packed with flavor and a perfect way to kick things off. My son ordered the brisket plate, and I went with the wings. From this moment on, I will be judging every other BBQ place by Apocalypse BBQ. That’s how good it was.
Of course, we couldn’t leave without trying the skull-shaped cornbread (a must!), and just when we thought we couldn’t eat another bite, we finished with two hot, fresh chocolate chip cookies that were the perfect ending to an incredible meal.
We’ll definitely be back—and we’ll gladly make the drive. It’s well worth it!
Awesome place, will keep returning.
Our most recent trip, we were helped by a great 2 person team, Mikey “Fountain of Knowledge” Alvarez was one of them and he was very funny! He had great suggestions for food pairings – like, adding the brisket into the Mac and ordering the cookies to go but adding coffee ice cream after a quick air fry. He checked on us often and was attentive to our table – always left or came back to our table with something in hand.
The BBQ is always incredible. We’ve never had a bad experience with the food. The brisket and cafecito ribs are our fave. Loaded mac, coleslaw and cornbread are honorable mentions. We recently tried the fried chicken sandwich for the first time (since it’s available fresh as per our most recent server) and it was delectable – the fresh slaw, soft buns in combination with the crispy, hot and flavorful chicken made for an amazing sandwich and honestly, probably our favorite sandwich. The burgers are near-perfect.
**I read complaints about them running out of food, yea, the food is fresh – that’s gonna happen. Aim to stop by afternoon (up until 5/6pm) or brunch (11am-4pm). You can’t come somewhere the food is made fresh for the day and be upset that the fresh food ran out.
The staff is usually friendly (sometimes it’s a hit or miss on charming server but, still good the majority of the time.) The ladies at the hostess stands are ALWAYS sweet and I do appreciate their energy. We’ve had 1 “bad” experience in the months we’ve been coming and a manager took care of us personally and was apologetic and beyond accommodating. I believe his name was Mike, but I could be totally wrong.
Anyway, love this place! It’s our go-to bbq spot ❤️
